There are a couple ways you could do this.

If you remove the resonator on the 2.5 and weld in a straight through pipe you will be slightly reducing back pressure giving you minimal gains. It will also probably be pretty loud on the 2.5.

If you remove the resonator AND the Catalytic converter and replace the Cat with a straight pipe that will also increase sound. Keep in mind, eliminating the Cat is not legal and may make the 2.5 crazy loud when you also eliminate the resonator.

I predict that in the future someone will release a new Y-Pipe that is going to eliminate the Cat that you see in the first photo that mcheddadi posted.

Intake and cat-back exhaust would be the best route. The INJEN sounds amazing in my opinion!
generic, I have a question..

When you swapped your intake, is the sound difference only heard during acceleration and WOT? Or is it heard all the time. I ask because i had a 1995 nissan 200sx with the old Ga16DE motor, and when I added the Injen intake and Stromung cat-back exhaust, it was a beautiful yet LOUD purr... so loud that normal conversations inside the vehicle were affected.

Do you get the same type of increased sound inside the ride with the Injen on the A/C. If so, I'll probably just leave everything like it is... I want my car to sound like a semi luxury car, not a race car... thanks in advance for your input...
