There is always an appeal for a stick just as there is an appeal for an auto. s***, you got me. I'm a hermaphrodite :(

Where can I get that hoverround upgrade?

A herm, you're your own best freind!

I tend to gravitate towards one end or the other. I want a manual or an automatic. Don't bother me with a +/- gate on the shifter or video game buttons on the steering wheel in the auto car, it's asinine. "D" will do fine. If I bought an auto it's because I wasn't interested in shifting the car in question so offering the ability to do so provides no utility and is sort of agrevating actually.

My wife's mini has one of those +/- gates off to the side. I normally don't use them, but this car's transmission hunts more than Elmer Fudd; it can't pick a damned gear and when it does, half the time it's too low or too high. I slapped the shifter over at the light and figured I'd give that a try. I have it in 1 and the light goes green and I accelerate with the intention of banging a shift, um, I mean a "shift" when the time is right, but it shifts into 2 by itself before I can. WTF? I guess it's really just there to piss me off then. I slapped it back into D and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon watching it fumble around while I chomped on a carrot.

DS mode in the G works ok. There are still some sloppy shifts that can be resolved with tweaking the shift points via a tune. DS by itself can get lost on some more-sweeping corners but does OK on sharper roads like US129 Dragon.
