I don't think this has been asked before and I've been searching around already.

I'm planning on buying an aftermarket steering wheel soon, and I was wondering what the differences between a deep-dish and a normal one were- other than the distance in depth. I've noticed some deep-dish wheels were labeled with "rally" ,so I thought maybe they offer a bit more control in "turn intensive" situations where there's a lot of back-to-back turns? I'm going to be particularly using the wheel for drifting.

I'm probably over analyzing this, and it could be just personal preference after all, but I just wanted to get nico's opinions on this.

thanks

Fixed that for you.

Deep dish means it sits closer too you.

Rally is just a differnt style, its a company thing. It all depends on what you like.

Im 6' 2", so I have my seat slid pretty far back, and I have it leaned back a little too so my head doesn't rub the roof. I need the wheel as close as possible.

so much more comfy now that i have a deep steering wheel with quick release. i get to straighten my legs a bit and just a bit of recline on the seat and the wheel is right there. only thing now is to bring my shift knob back a bit and i would be golden.

i have a deep dish wheel that feelz great, it gives you more knee room for shifting and driving...some advice from my bad luck, use a ball bering* quick release hub because my locking button on my old cheap hub broke and i had to check if it was secure every 20 seconds instintively, have a spare wheel.....people think it's the funniest thing to remove and hid your wheel......imagin how mad that can get you lol i'm a good sport though, college can be a b*tch at times but now i keep an extra just incase, and Horn buttons are more expensive then you would like to pay!!! also wanted to add cheap quick release hubs are a beeOch to connect and disconnect the horn! [IMG][/IMG] yea my interior is kinda ashy ricey lol

lmaO, i'd have you know those four cans of red spray not only make my interior mismatch with it's own color but add make me like 3 seconds faster dude totally! what was i thinking lol but the dish is 3" so sjbsuperman1425 my ebay wheel can't be compaired to your boys name brand one at all lol

closer = better

and for motorsport reasons, it means less driver arm fatigue.

I like my steering wheel close to me. Everytime I drive a car with a stock wheel, I feel like a vato driving with one arm, haha

thanks lol me2!!! i had to get the ebay knock off of the b and G short shifter lmaO the others kept slipping out and as for the the wheel, the horn prolly cost more but it's a visual and comfert upgrade, security too but i think someone can always find a way to steel your s***, unless they want it for a joy ride, lost a crx because someone thought it looked fun before and for the record, if you don't have power steering like i didn't for a while and a stiff bucket you can loosen the bolts on the steering wheel dude, i used it to help me get out the tight a** seat lol

call it stylish or ricey, it's still not making the car faster right?
