Well, my car usually only does it when i first get on the highway at about 70mph. It goes away after a few minutes. My GN used to do the same thing.

First thing, if the wheel is bent, even if it gets balanced, it will cause the wheel to shake. If you see excessive weights scattered on different locations of the wheel chances are it's bent. You can also have a bad tire (or bad tires). Next, I'd check out the T/C rod bushings...scrap that. If they're stock, they need to be replaced. Adjustable arms are best, but a poly bushing will do the trick. Note thought that poly t/c rod bushings have been known to break lower control arms in half....I'd definately look into an adjustable set w/ heim joints (like spl, battle version, ebay, whatever..). Also, all your ball joints and LCA bushings should be replaced as well. Lastly, if your struts are blown (if they are stock, they probably are), they can also cause vibration.

Good luck!

ok everyone who's car does this post your tire brand

i guarantee they're nearly all either kumho ecsta supra 712's or other crappy tires of the like...good tires wont do this, but crappy ones will wear funny etc...at least that's what i was told...i know this because at one point in time i had slicks on my car and it did not do that...somone once told me that it might be because my rims are bent...

well my rims wre only used in practice on an SCCA Grand-Am Cup car and i dont think they regularly take on pot holes and stuff...plus...BBS rims dont usually bent without some special pursuasion

my car shakes bad at aroudn 60-70 and goes away afterwards...i also had moved my rear tires to the front, which is when i started. i had the wheels re-balanced, adn the alignment done professionally. still shakes some...we decided that after my car is on some new rubber, we'll re-align and see how that goes...i'm 99% sure it has to do w/ aggressive drivign on cruddy tires taht makes them wear unevenly...leading to the slight imbalance in the tires, making the shake come only at higher speed...

if this dosent make sense...then i'm probably wrong

It's very simple, take the car to the place you bought your tires, get the balenced, bam, problem solved for free.

If not, then you probably have mud, fix-a-flat, etc. in your tire, and last but not least you could have a seizing brake caliper or bad pads slightly sqeezing your rotor which happens to be warped, but you would experience greater shaking during braking if this was the case.

D.AM.N everyone says something different, which is totally wrong.

Get under the car, if your tires are normal, and all the control arms are in good condition(not loose at the connection places) under the car, THEN:

its either rod bushings or your rotors worn out. get a new rotors every 2-3 brake pad changes and you'll be fine.

had same problem, twice, first it was rotors, second time it was bushings.

if you drive hard, hard on brakes, its prob rotors, its time for me to change my rotors already. at high speeds wheel shakes, i step on brakes and it balances itself out. so right now its rotors. i'll change it once i pay off my laptop. guess gotta drive normal for abt a mnth. it sucks being tied down.

you didn't mention if you have aftermarket wheels or not, but i just fixed a similar problem last week. my hubcentric ring for one of my 16inch wheels had been broken by the guy who did my brakes. i ordered a new set of plastic rings for the inside of the wheel and it fixed the problem. There is a link to the site that sells them at http://wheelmax.com. aside from that 240s do have a tendency to vibrate from 45 to 65 if they have been lowered. just drive faster
