hey everyone!this is my first post here and hopefully it'll help me out.I have a '91 s13 and I'm having a really bad vibration in the steering wheel between 60 and 70 mph.I first thought it was due to a separated belt in the tire, but after replacing and balancing the tires the vibration was still there. I swapped to the stock teardrops and there was very little vibration. I tried another set of 17's and there was a vibration, but it was nowhere near that of my racing heart wheels. I checked the tie rods, and there doesn't seem to be any play in the joints. I just replaced the ball joints today. (I knew that wouldn't solve the vibration problem, they just needed to be replaced) I also noticed the sway bar\ tension rod bracket bolts were loose and thought that might be the problem, but there was no improvement

Mostly the suspension is stock. I have GR2's with intrex springs, and megan tension rods. I also have Q45 brakes, but that shouldn't cause any bad steering vibes.

I'm prolly gonna get some new tie rods to see if that does it. I need to replace the st. rack boots anyway

Anyone have any ideas where to look next?

Evrybody would say serach but because i was dreading from the same damn thing i will help you out i had z32 wheels with spacer up front and noticed that my steering wheel would shake like crazy at the same speed so i balanced them but still get the vibration why? io had non hubcentric spacers and the wheel was bent in an ablong shape haha. another thing it could be is/are you steering rack bushings or possible even your wheel bearings but that is prob not the case, hope you find the prob. vibrations like that are a pain in the arse so i recomend putting your teardroips on but balance them befor it could also be you tires like you said a belt has been spereated.

I'm now thinking I have an out of round wheel. My racing heart wheels are pretty beat up, but I've run these wheels for nearly 6 months with no problems and it just started happening. I guess I could have hit a pothole pretty hard and not remembered. I'm gonna try swapping the tires from my racing hearts to my other 17's since they're good and see how that goes. I'm also gonna machine some hub-centric rings for my 5 spoke wheels.
