Just tell them to give you the seat and do it yourself, or be prepared to wait 3 god damn months.

Talked to the service dept mgr and he gave me 4 oil changes on them, was going to flip out but decided to be calm about the situation and at least got something for the wait.

^^ ahh yes I remember that thread

So why the hell would it take a whole work day to change a seat cushion? Do you have to take the engine out to get to the bolts?

At least he's offering free service. If not, I'd remind him that Nissan dealership customer satisfaction is rated dead last, and he is contributing to the problem.

So they just started working on it then? Seriously it takes 15 mins to swap out a seat. 4 bolts, a harness connection... Bob's your uncle.

No parts, long line, or just a bunch billybobs smoking cigarettes in the back that have no sense of costumer service.

Did they even give you an estimated time? I assume s why you just waited instead of dropping it off.

Reasons like this make me love owning BMW. I have the free maintenance plan, and it's by appointment only. Go there nice seats, free food, drinks, company Ipad to help pass time. and a lot full of cars to look at and dream about.

They treat you good, if the work takes awhile they will give a loaner to go run errands. When you get the car back it has a fresh wash and air freshener. Then for the icing, no charge for anything. Free. Get all that take you car and drive off with no bill.

As a rule of thumb, since I don't generally buy new cars, I never take my cars to the stealership for anything. However, I do go there to get OEM parts when necessary.

I have to say, Subaru is not half bad in terms of amenities and the state your car is in when you get it back (well at least the ones I see drive in and out of there =P).

I don't worry about how long the dealership takes. The free loaner car from Infiniti (usually a low-mileage G37 sedan - one time I got a G37S, even though I prefer my M45) for anything longer than an hour, is very easy to live with.

On occasion, when a particular job goes long, I have kept the loaner for a day or two. Once over a long weekend as well, when the dealer didn't finish that Friday evening.

Perfectly fine by me. :yesnod

Definitely.. I took my Q into the dealer for an alignment ($90 at the dealer, yes please) and they gave me a loaner.. I hate waiting around for service in general unless its simple like a tire mount/rotation, or oil change, because it puts undue pressure on the service guys and also sucks for you who sits in the waiting room.

I DESPISE those guys. They are the definition of stealership. There is only 1 manager in there who is legit and helped me out once, the rest of them can fall off a cliff and die. I blacked out on the manager who I think is named Chris? One of the most livid experiences of my life, I wont go back there...ever.

Doubt its convenient for you, but I love the service department in Bloomfield Nissan. Its right down the road from where I work so works for me.

My friend's wife has a Mini she bought last year. The BMW dealer she bought it from comes out to her home, tows it away on a flatbed and brings her a 3-series loaner....all for an oil change.

Ouch! (awesome thread though) I always bribe the dealer here with donuts in the morning. Remember service advisors are used to getting bitched at constantly so any little gesture makes them feel good/guilty. And really how can you make someone wait and get mad that just brought you a treat ? :bigthumb:

File a complaint with Nissan North America and ask that they share it with the GM of the dealership. Be articulate, factual, and polite. Explain that you will no longer be patronizing their business and instead will be going to a different dealer for purchases and service henceforth. Then take your dollars to a different dealership.

I thought about that but this was an exception, out of the 4 new cars I had I went to the service dept twice, I do all the services myself . This wont happen again, I guess all the dealers are the same when it comes to fixing your car at the dealer.

I wouldn't say they are all the same. My local dealer, Woodfield Nissan (where I've purchased my last 2 vehicles), always gives me fantastic service. If I drop my car off in the morning on my way to work, they'll give me a loaner to drive for the day -- all I have to do is ask. Of course, I usually don't go to the dealer for service, but when I do they treat me very well.
