yeaaaah.... about that stock one. Im sorry if this sounds like this is a very stupid and amatuer question but here goes, maybe this is perfectly normal for motors that havent been used in a long while and there are no fluids in it but the pulley really doesnt turn to smoothly and almost feels like its rubbing on something. Now b4 you answer this question keep in mind im a rookie :) . Well now that i have put my soul on display let the smashing begin.

yeah, uh, replace it.

but what you need is the PULLY, i the pully still attatched to the pump? it attatches with 4 nuts onto the quasi-studs of the pump..

OK. First the pully is on the motor ive taken the fan off, i havent removed it ever and its still where it should be. I have not removed the water pump but reading almost every thread about basic maintenence on the CA everyone has mentioned changing the water pump, I have no clue to the condition of the water pump it could be fine for all I know but the pulley that the fan was attached to wont turn at all, which unless im a complete idiot is the same one that the waterpump is behind. I think was a bit broad with the other questions maybe, and appreciate all the help. So really what i want to know is do i replace this pully that barely turns? Damn i think i got carple tunnel (sp), thanks again.

[/quote]OK, yeah, the pully is probably fine its just the pump that's seized, which it is bolted to.

take the 4 nuts off the pully and you can take it off, its only the wheel-like thing, then use it again on your replacement (RWD!) pump.

The waterpump itself, which is the shaft sticking out w/ 4 studs that the pully is attatched to, plus the pump itself behind it, that entire thing is replaced with the new water pump.

and I wouldn't call replacing your pump 'maintenance', lol, sounds like you'd have hard time starting the motor with it preventing the belts from moving and making the starter have to work really hard, so DEFINATELY replace that dead pump. One of my pumps on one motor turns mostly freely but keeps sticking a bit, I'm gonna replace it regardless of whether it did that or not, but even that little bit is indication it MUST be replaced.
