Post

Hi,

I searched this topic as it is very simple and common and all I could find were new swap starting issues. This car is an s13 240 or 180sx with a redtop sr20det that was running perfect about 3 days ago. it has been sitting for 3 or 4 days. it was cold out tonight and I went to start it. since I live in a bad neighborhood I unplug the sensor above the which I believe is for the cam-shaft. it sits above and to the right of the valve cover if you are look at the engine in front of you. I have always done this and once I want to turn the car on simply plug it in and start the car.

I plugged it in as usual and went to start. all electrical systems came on like normal and she cranked hard and it was turning over but didn't start.

it always had a hard time starting in the cold and the PO said that it is because he was using too thin of a wire on the positive terminal. I could not hear the pump turn on but normally I do not pay attention to it so I do not know if it turned on or not.

My theory is either the pump filter is clogged? or the pump is just bad? too cold for it to start? I am going to try again tomorrow during the warm weather.

btw I could smell barley any gas for as many times as I tried starting the car....the PO was kind of stupid but he claimed he was a mechanic so I believed him. The car runs fine it would just have a hard time starting sometimes specially in the cold. its not too cold though here. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

First off insulting people dosen't compel them to help you.

Do you have fuel at the rail? If you cant hear the pump prime when you turn the key thats the first thing i would check

is it normal for a pump to all of a sudden make a different noise .. mine sounds like the grudge is in my trunk. Before it hummed smoothly. What could that mean?

Well with that attitude pls do go, its a forum not something that you pay for. There for we dont have to answer every single problem that comes across the boards. If someone knows somehting they will try to help but your second post prob turned people off.

Next time if you need some assistance dont be a d!ck 6 hrs after you post a problem. Good by dont come back we have enough a$$ here and dont need any more.

Towards the end of your OP, you added a new variable to your experiment. Most people were probably waiting on results. Now let's break it down a little further. Your first post was at midnight your time, and you're demeaning second post was around 8:30pm following. 8:30's about the time most most people are on; therefore, instead of insulting everyone, you should have just refreshed your post with something simple like "anyone?" or "please help guys!" so that it is brought up in the list of "Active Topics." Your OP was after I got offline, your second post was right when I got back on. It was at the top of my "Active Topics" list and I opened it up to see if I could help you out. Do you really think I am going to read your second post and then proceed to do you any favors? Think again.

Please sell your car and go back to Hondas.

Nobody said rice. You sir are racist for assuming that a little smiley with an "R" is rice. Everybody here knows where Nissan comes from, and we all know where we'd like to shove one.

You are seriously stupid or rather slow, when I was quoting you instead of the logo it shows the command which is (: rice) without the space and parenthesis. you want to shove a nissan up my a**? How about I blow that nissan you drive out of my a** while I pass you on the highway. I bet you don't even have an SR. Just another kid trying to play with the big boys with your fart can sounding like a weed wacker embarrassing the rest of us tuners with your pointless mods.

I considered getting an SR, but it wasn't enough. Oh the irony, lmao. Do you honestly think I care what you say at this point? Be gone. You've gained no respect from anyone here. You try to insult us to make yourself look good - I assume, because I see no other reason why a little teenager such as yourself would talk the s*** you do. If you don't like this forum then stop coming back to it. We don't need you here and so far we don't want you here.

Mods, can we get a lock? There's no reason for this to continue.

Impressive, can you explain how the ignition switch failed in a way that it sends power to the starter relay and not the fuel pump/ecu?

By the way, they don't just hand out ASE master certifications to "idiots"

Umm I do not know much a bout ignition switches but I know after I bought a new one and plugged it in, the car turned on as if it was brand new. So you tell me Master ASE certified bullcrap? You know I'm kind of new to the whole tuner community and so far the online community is just full of idiots. I can see why the muscle heads have no respect for us. Unfortunately I have to be apart of this community with what I drive but maybe I can prove to some people im not as stupid as the average nissan or honda driver...jesus man

You are the one talking smack. Seriously bro, why would someone read your second post and then care to offer you any assistance? This is a community, not a service. If you were paying me, then I might ignore the diarrhea coming out of your mouth and offer advice. Until then, expect nothing more than what you deserve.

Lol you really think I was expecting an answer after my second reply? How many times do I have to tell you that you are dumb before you actually realize maybe you are dumb? I had already figured out the problem on my own by that second reply. I know I want a cookie because I am so cool for finding my own problem. Remember you were the one that decided to reply to the diarrhea coming out of my mouth so you must enjoy it. go ef your self till you realize you are nothing more than a E-thug. No mechanical knowledge at all, actually sorry you probably know as much my girl friend. Thats not bad for a girl.

Will you please go buy an 80's camaro so you can land yourself a boyfriend with a powerful mullet that can relieve you of your frustrations that stem from your shriveled up rice wiener.

"muscle heads" hate us because of angry ignorant children such as yourself that do burnouts at stop lights and rev their car under overpasses.

I think you all are mad because at 19 I have already swapped an SR20det into an S13 without having any prior knowledge of nissan cars thus why I was confused on the ignition problem above which again I figured out on my own while you guys sat here and updated the post calling me all sorts of things irrelevant to the post. As I said I had already found my answer and no longer found this forum useful. In fact I find it silly, as you can also see the only reason I come back is to reply to your garbage. I highly doubt you guys are anything useful in the real world so stop calling me a kid and grow yourself up and stop replying. Seriously I had hard time remembering my sn for this sh1t site and members. later oh thanks for a good chuckle.

I generally don't post on this site, just read the forums but I just want to chime in. This is a great site with lots of helpful people, and iheartmysr is acting like a child. I am sick of this crap getting bumped to the top. Will a moderator please lock this thread?

See this is a terrible site if I am the high light of the forum...nothing is going on and if there is anything being posted it is in here. You guys could be mature and ignore the "child"(me) but no pointing fingers an making fun of just like a child is more fun. Of course it isn't childish when you do it right? ...get a life and your own car so you can understand the value of the privilege of having one. I do not believe any of you swapped any sort of car at age 17 or whatever because you can not even figure out a simple ignition problem and spend more time bantering "children" (me) on the net than you do in the garage. ZOOMIGUEL for all I know you could have stolen that sr20det. I'm not racist but 100% of cars around my school and house are stolen by Hispanics I caught one of them one time and got stabbed and even then I made sure I broke the mother.fockers legs till cops came.
