Just bend the bracket to make it point straight up. I had to do it to mine too. SSAC service sux but the IC is decent and it came with all the piping for $199 shipped...

TubedSR86. I'm running 2 things by them right now with absolutely no problems. Their intercoolers are great. Absolutely nothing wrong with them. I dont consider having to bend that bracket into the proper place an issue. Im also running their downpipe. Its hard to mess up on a downpipe so its fine.

People seem to think their exhausts are decent. CA guys run their manifolds all the time. I dont see anything wrong with them. As long as you dont buy a turbo or something really important like that from them then your ok.

I made a thread about my Super ****ty Auto Chrome nightmare in which I posted similar e-mails. At this point, people should refuse to do business with them on principle.

I also made a post about a great source for Ebay ICs.

you dont understand, if i bend it part of the bracket that is circled in my first picture will crush into the core. I did think about bending it, i dont really want to try and **** it up.

Bend the bracket like they told you.You have before pics. If bending it messes up the cooler, take some pictures of the damage and tell them to send you another one. Seeing that on their instructions, bending the bracket damaged it, they won't be able to argue a point. (but of course they will try)Better yet, take a video of yourself bending the bracket with a pair of pliers. Then in windows movie maker or something edit in the message"I told you it'd fcvk up my cooler! send me another one!"

Got a link to this post Edub1? Since SSAC has disappeared im looking for a different option for my CA FMIC. Was considering SSAC because its pretty much a bolt on affair.

Could be worse, my SSAC intercooler didn't even come with a bracket. Metal hanging strip and sheet metal screws, FTW!

well they emailed me again today with another sarcastic comment. this time i wasnt as nice i told them off big time. heres what they said

"damn man - $200 for a FMIC - and you need us to bend a bracket ........

WOW SERIOUS ........"

I told them off, im not even going to bother with them now. i am going to cut it off and re weld it. im not going to waste my time trying to reason with them even though it is clearly stated in their warrenty page that it is covered. they can go **** them selves. ill fix it myself. thanks for all the posts.

i had a SSAC intercooler and its metal brackets were bent like that. i just used some vicegrips and bent them back down. it didn't cause any other problems.

i will have to give SSAC some credit mine survived a pretty bad front end collision damn near undamaged.

i couldnt bend it straight because it was welded. I did think SSAC quality was good as far as the piping goes and the intercooelr isnt even half bad, but there customer service is terrible beyond belief and their welding skills are down in the toilet as well. if i have learned anything about business is that you gotta have good customer satisfaction.

Mine was slightly dented, and when I emailed him about it, I got no response. Their customer service does suck.

Mine looks just like that, and it's just fine. You may have to add a washer or two in there to make up that bit of difference. But I've not had any problems yet.

You can start a 'I hate SSAC blog', then you can earn advertising revenue and burn them down. The only thing is, I get 10%.

lol I would have bent the bracket without even thinking about it. I would have grabbed it hard with a vice grip and bend it without even bending that top plate, wich doesn't carry any pressure through it. But there responses where pretty ****ty. I wouldn't have liked if they replied to me like that.

i would have bent it if it wasnt welded at the bottom, right at the part were it was supposed to be bent at it was welded, thats why now when i bent it its arched. but i dont care it will work this way. it wasnt the point if i could bend it or not cause its easy to bend ****, it was the fact that they have a warrenty for manufactur defects and do not have the balls to keep to their word.

Link doesnt work.

I did search for your topic, and found it, but no products listed on their Ebay Store for a CA.

I would of broke it, taken a picture and sent it back to them, telling them it was broke. Give them a fake name. Just because they were bungholes. Make them send you another one and waste their time. not yours.
