I just purchased a intercooler kit from SS auto chrome. when i recieved the intercooler the bracket welded to the top was bent at a 45 degree angle as opposed to the 90 degree angle its supposed to be at. i figure oh well no big deal i could probably bend it back. well i took a closer look and turns out if i bend it, it will crush the core. so i email SSAC figuring its a manufacture defect and its still in warrenty and it can be replaced. I emailed them told them the problem and even sent pictures of what was wrong. It takes them a few days to reply(just for information like my adress, order numer etc). then i get an email today saying this:

"JUST BEND IT THE OTHER WAY - IT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT IS THAT BIG OF A DEAL - IT IS A BRACKET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JUST TAKE A PAIR OF PLYERS, AND SLOWLY, BEND IT THE WAY IT SHOULD BE

COME ON - IS THIS EMAIL NECESSARY ?"

Is it just me or is that a bit FVCKED up on the customer service side. On there page it says our priority is #1 in customer service. I clearly stated to them before that though that it can not be bent back without causeing damage. any way i just wanted to tell you guys my story and to becareful ordering from them because they seem to be a bunch of ***holes that deserve to die.

Have any pictures of it? If its the bracket to have off of the rad support, I'm sure you can ever heat it a little and go at it with vice grips.

What the heck? You order something from a company, and they tell you to do work by bending it back the other way? That's like buying a car and then the dealership asking you to put it together.

That e-mail would piss me off to no end, especially how illiterate the author seems to be.

Thanks for posting this, I won't be ordering from SS Autochrome anytime soon.

Sorry to say this, but you should have done a little more research before purchasing. SS auto is known for it's horrid customer service. The only reason they put customer satisfaction is their number one priority is it is actually their last priority. Inverse marketing ftw. It's the same as hyundais and kias having extra long warranties. It dupes the customers into trusting the company.

thats not good. it doesnt look like it was a 90 bend anyway. it looks like there is a piece welded on the bottom and one on the back pointing up instead of a pre-bent 90 degree piece, so it looks like when it got welded either they 1. when welding it got too hot and melted the bracket it self and fell over, or 2. it got bent too far and some jackass just welded it anyway.either way man can you get a pick of it like inside the bent area, like from the front of the core. i wouldnt try and bend that back because it might tear the core or it wont hold right or somthing because it just doesnt look right. anybody els with an ssac ic have pics of this piece for reference of the correct bend?

SS AutoChrome isn't know for being the best company out there. Most people say to avoid them because of **** like this.

I'd email them back and tell them it's under warrenty and you want a fixed one. Make damn sure to mark that intercooler some how so you know when they send you a new one that they didnt just bend that one like they told you so and screw something up. Also take pictures of where you marked the intercooler so you have proof.

all SSAC is good for is buying things for cheap.

quality sucks and customer service sucks as you have experienced.

I dont understand why people still deal with those people...

Spend the money, buy quality parts and be done with it. Simple as that.

Then again 240 crowds are known to be cheap....

Understatement. But why spend extra money on something like a front mount? Especially when most won't be boosting past 15 PSI, much less 20? Extra expense in this case is a waste

thats what i was thinking, i was hoping at least though for 200 bucks to get a damn metal bracket shaped in a 90 degree angle and not a 45 degree. im not really worried about it though, it was really just that response that got me pissed and i figured i should share with everyone so they dont make the same mistake as me.

How bout things like Greddy M-spec? Its not much more expensive than a SSAC FMIC.

Im not telling people to spend money on name brand things like Blitz and HKS FMIC kits when they obviously do not even need it.

They have things like Greddy M-spec for those people who are not looking for the top of the line.

Why when an ebay bar an plate FMIC and piping can be had for a total of 200 bucks? Just saying that the only real reason for most of our cars to get a brand name front mount would be label whoring.
