Rally racing is definitely a dangerous sport (along with many other forms, but it seems like more Rally guys are killed every year per capita than anything else).

It's always sad to see people go like that. At least they died while doing something they loved. Not much consolation to them or their families, but better then some alternatives.

God speed to them.

Today offically made up my mind. I am extremely happy that I bought a WRX. My side of town (Indianapolis) got about +10" of rain and there were many streets that were flooded. Repoman and I went out in the WRX and we NEVER got stuck. There was only one place that I didnt take the WRX through and that was at the enterance to my subdivision (a big rig went through and had trouble). There was one place on Mudcreek Road that the water was rushing across the road very quickly. I placed the car into first and blew through the water like it was nothing. Most of the water ranged from 1- +2' high. I would like to see an SRT-4 do that. Bring on the rain, snow or anything else mother nature can throw at the WRX. It just laughs.

The SRT4 just means that in 5 years the pizza deliveries should reach our door ALOT faster.

Cold_Zero - since PM is disabled on this board it makes discussions not related to the thread a lot more difficult to discuss.

Anyway - I'm skeptical about the fixes being made in the 03' model. My g/f has owned her 03' 2.5RS for 5 months and has these problems some of the others mentioned. Having little experience with the WRX/RS I'm not sure I know EXACTLy what the problems were on the previous models, but her car on several occasions had problems staying in 1st gear and has difficulty putting the gear into reverse.

Ivan-Like I have said before, we have more than 20 people in our Impreza Club in Indy and no one has that problem. Plenty of 02 and 03 WRX's in the Club. I am not saying people are making it up, but it surely doesn’t sound systemic. There are a lot of people that beat the hell out of their cars and blame it on the car maker.

Ok, that settles it. I need to buy both an SRT-4 AND a WRX. So, who wants to send me money? Please? :D
