redline will by 8000s14 sr20det with vtc still workinghks step 2 264 inhks step 2 272 out all supporting mods that are needed are done

i already have a gt2871r .86, but i think i am going to sell it and get a gt2871r .86 with the to4e .70 housing with 4" inlet or a gt3071r-wg .86 w/ 4" inlet.

if i understand correctly, the gt2871r w/to4e housing flows 44lbs (450hp) and the gt3071r flows 46lbs (475hp).

what is the spool up difference between these 2 turbos? the gt3071r is matched a bit better isn't it? or is the purpose of the t04e upgrade to better match the 2 sides of the turbo?

this is actually my second staggered setup, i used to run hks 256 in step1 and 264 out step 1 and I loved it so much i decided to upgrade.

you pretty much get the starting powerband of your intake cam and the ending of your exhaust cam. its just a way to get a little bit of both worlds.

there is more detailed info in the camshaft mega-thread sticky.

Hey man I'm not sure if you drag race this thing, but if you are able to rev it out to 8000 will you be able to get through the traps in third gear? just curious.

Go with a 2871R .82 (T3 Housing). The 2871R flows too well for the small T2 housing. 20psi before 4500rpm is what i think it can be.

if i was going to go t3 i would do better than the gt2871r. the gt3071r is a much better designed turbo.

So why not go T3 over T2? You will get more power and better spool than a T2 housing.

Because i already have a nice bottom mount and o2 housing. I may go with a t3 latter on down the road. But I am going to see how everything works out with what I already have.

I am planning to port the wastegate hole as well as the t2 flange. I think that will make a noticeable difference.

Dont see how. The wastegate already holds 19-20psi perfectly solid with the right boost controller. Port/Hone the exhaust housing if anything.

well that gt2871r that i got has turned out to be a gt2876r. i have found mixed reviews on this turbo that completly contradict each other.

anyone running one care to clairify how it will perform?

never been there.

the car in the picture is dead. i am building my new 98 kouki and sr20det now. i should have it done in a month or 3. I am going to try my best to have it done before the meet up on the dragon.

i have a full parts list in this thread:zerothread?id=223537

the only thing that has changed is that right now i have a gt2876r .70 .86

once it gets warmer i am going to have a "help karmakaze put his car back together party" where i will provide food and beer to the 21+ people if your interested.

Whats the 3240 similar to? I think an awesome spooling and good power turbo would be GT30R .63 for the SR22. SR20 hits 20psi @ 4500rpm and making near 450whp. SR22 should boost earlier and make more power.

i am not sure what its similar to. the guy who has it said that he was spooling 32psi by 5-6000 rpm. but i am waiting for him to get back to me with what his setup was and to let me know when it started to spool.

i am leaning towards to gt30r .84 if it turns out this gt3240 is not what i want. i was advised that the .64 would run out of steam with my 9k redline.
