you should definitely have a segment on how to properly set the shim height with HLAs.

A lot of people just throw in any shims wherever they feel like which is not correct.

You should either show it using a feeler gauge which can be a bit more complicated mathematically as you need to take the rocker ratio into account.

Or you can show them how to make a tool with a dial indicator using an old HLA and figuring out the shim height that way.

ARP head studs torque specs and sequence... I hear that chit get asked at least 5 times a month if not more.

Where NOT to put RTV like the outlet of your oil pump. Use O-ring instead. I made this mistake and ended up clogging up the oil gallery. not pretty.

I know this is stupid but how to use a torque wrench PROPERLY. Most people dont know.

Also how to use an angle gauge for torque-to-yield type of bolts.

how to use plasti gauge or use micrometer to set bearing clearance.

Piston rings orientation. and how to install them without snapping them in half. How to check end gap and adjust.

Protect your rod bolts when installing the piston+rod assy into the bore.

I will keep listing as I think of more.

"I know this is stupid but how to use a torque wrench PROPERLY"

I actually asked that exact question so it is clear to everyone in the DVD.

I saw that get asked few times here.

If you can go over remove/installing the turbo/manifold that would be pretty cool.

Don't forget to show like minor detail stuff too. Some of these instruction videos will like basically walk you through yea, but leave some things out. I'll post it when I think of it. Trouble shooting issues of course. Also take into consideration that alot of us don't have super advance tools so take use of lower tech. tools. Than make sure your stuff is clear on the video. On some that I've seen, it'll show some stuff thats like kinda rough to see due to lighting and stuff. thats my opinion

A test clip was just uploaded on Youtube for the host to review tomorrow.

We have a great light setup. Regarding the tools, the measuring tools are expensive, maybe about $1500. We will address how to use the cheaper tools that are on site.

I think we can do a better job showing how to adjust the measuring tools. We can correct this on Saturday.

Please continue to post your suggestions.

damnnn those are some nice set of measuring tools. Yeah... 99% of the 240 owners will not have that.

I know the extent of measuring equipment that normal people will have is a caliper, or even a micrometer but I doubt a bore gauge.

But yea that looks good.

One suggestion tho... is when you were calculating out the required main bearing size. It would be more clear to people if you had a separate screen that shows the equation and the numbers you are using kindda like a powerpoint slide.

This way, numbers and equations can pop up on the screen as you are talking and people will be able to follow better instead of seeing written numbers on a note pad and you punching in numbers in the calc.

I'd like to see a bonus feature that list required and optional tools, along with gaskets/sealants and their respective place on the motor.

Little details such as where to use lube on reassembly. In your past DVD's I've notice a commonly overlooked problem section and thus I hope you have it on this DVD. It really has some helpful info.

Exactly. Basically we need to cover "what are common mistakes" The 13B Porting DVD had a section on that.

~CLEANLINESS CONTROLS~

Too often I see people taking Head gaskets off with 3M-Roloc wheels only to have the highly abrasive gritty mixture getting into the oil system and take out main bearings upon first startup. I feel this area is highly overlooked and largely ignored.

We should have a review copy for Drift Speed by this week.

If there are no corrections needed then we can start selling early copies right away.

I'll also be buying one later on for sure. Do you have any other clips on the video??? That way we could give other suggestions in other parts of the video? So far it looks really good.

No offense but that picture drives me freakin nuts. Is the picture of the block upside down or something? The angle of the studs makes it look upside down and it looks like the block is sloping away from the camera on the bottom of the picture. Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong or something.

No, you are correct; look at it now.
