The problem started after I was leaving from work. Car idles great, but while driving it bucks and jerks through 1k-4k rpm. 3k being the worst it will cruise alright but at 3k the car will go not go for anything past a cruising throttle input. I can granny the car up to speed and downshift up past 4k the car is a rocket. I have completely no idea on this. I have replaced the O2 and have gone through all piping and vacuum lines for leaks. anyone have an idea?

Have you tried testing the TPS with a meter? You should see a gradual increase not exceeding 5V. If it drops off anywhere then your TPS needs to be replace. Do it with the ignition on and engine off and have somebody do it with the pedal, don't just turn the throttle by hand. You should never see 0 volts and you should never see more than 5 volts. Other than that I am still new to the SR scene so.

Check your TPS. Then check your fuel pressure, your spark plugs, your MAFS, and also check for ECU DTCs.

Desperately want an answer to this one as well. From what 5upra is explaining it sounds like I have the exact same problem and have not been able to hunt down the problem. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. And sorry for the little thread jack.

well guys my turbo is done...time for a new one:) If you guys are still not there then check your manifold vacuum. still not sure about mine but its some thing around that. mabye get the intake system pressure tested if possible. I think it might have something to do with my bov....hearing alot of compressor surge.

Try disconnecting your knock sensor. I reread your original post, the ECU only adjusts timing based on ks input below 4000 RPM, it could be that your knock sensor is overreacting and throwing you into limp mode. Check for boost/vacuum leaks, and check for DTCs.

i have an s14 sr and mine did the same thing, same exact thing, very frustrating when you do all the work and money spent on the swap. so i got fed up and tried a bunch of stuff...lesson learned, fried a path in my ecu for the fuel pump....so i bought an aem ems with a map sensor and it fixed the problem. . not very practical as far as solutions go but if it helps to know that fixed it...it could narrow down your search
