We have plenty of guides on re-timing the motor to factory specs

However, that's not the problem with a melted coil pack. I'm assuming they're melting at the top of the coil. Most likely, you have some crossed wires supplying constant voltage to the ground terminal on the coil pack (they're all on a shared ground) I would start looking at if the negative pin is seeing voltage with the coil unplugged and the car turned to "on"

After that, check to see how much current is being drawn across the positive terminal.

this is what you told me about ma coils.. i want to know how would you check the voltage for the grounds and the postive terminal... i timed my motor the other day and it still get the same issue. also for some reason when my key is out of the car my ecu and dash lights stay on and when i crank the motor it cranks but the lights go out. if it helps my safc tells me i am only getting 12.4 volts even when i got jumpers on my battery. usually it wll be at 13.4v

might not have all the answers you're looking for but will help you understand the wiring/firing of the coils, good luck
