I thikn all these vs threads really boil down to matters of opinion. I have seen some peopel say they prefer the SR20 just well...because. No specific reasoning as far as performance or price or anything. i fi was paying my hard earned bucks for one..it would the CA18. Just for the simple fact that I have other hobbies besides cars. If you are swapping for a turbo enigne..hell they are all good. May as well get the cheapest.....just my philosophy anyway. That is why I got an RB20. I couldnt find any CA18 clips and at the time the RB20 clip was only 1200 from venus. The Sr20 is to much in demand for my taste and therefore drives up the price. Just my .02 cents

the price alone, thats what first drew me into the CA. now that i have it im glad i got it over the SR. my whole CA clip plus shipping cost me about a grand less than a sr motorset, not shipped. 1500 bucks with 22k miles! boo yah! not bashing the SR though, im about to get one for my friend's g20. (tomei 2.2 stroker!! i love the rich)

Price is also what caught my eye at first... but then i learned of their better reving abilitys... and now i heard something about being better for a freeway race... wich would be awsome if it is true... not that i ever freeway race or anything... so the main 2 reasons so far that i can see a reason for getting a CA over a SR is that it is cheaper and that it is different... and seeing that i don't want or need anything over 300-350 hp there is no reason for the extra .2 litters...

it would be cool if somebody could explain why the CA would be better on the freeway... or any reasons for that being true... i think i just said the same question twice but in different ways... oh well

The CA can rev more frrely and the gears are closer together. So when the gears are more closer together it can reach top speed quicker than the SR i think...... I got a question too... i was wonderin what the stock hp is on the CA.?

EDIT: i already searched and couldnt find the answr so can you guys tell me the stock hp on the CA?

the only reason the CA has such a low stock hp rating is because it didnt come with a intercooler and the stock turbo is a worthless peice of turd for the most part.

Yes it did...and yes it is;)

Some of the early early CA's i (FWD I think) came non-intercooled and they only made like 150ish? All the 175 hp ones had a crappy side mount with plastic!!! endtanks... Even the SR sidemount is a huge upgrade over the CA intercooler!
