Remember though David, it was obvious what your motor was put through. There are certain indicators to look for to see what your motor was put through in Japan. Like what clutch is installed, the condition of the clip, mods, cam lobes, etc. Your clip had holes drilled in the dash for gauges, stickers on the valve cover, was an obvious sileighty conversion, little stuff like that. I don't know what clutch was in there or what your cam lobes looked like, but mine lacked all of the above and hasn't given me a single problem in almost a year of driving it.

EDIT: Not to mention the horrible wiring job the crazy japanese person did on their silvia headlights.

yup, it definatly depends on the condition of your motor. With the stock clutch attached, a good stock turbo and clean cam lobes, im perfectly comfortable leaving the stock timeing chain in there.

As Buud pointed out, the condition my clip was in made it obvious that the person who drove it before me, drove it hard. Whichever one you end up with might be in better shape.

do you guys think the stock fan and radiator off a 89 240 will do for cooling at temperatures around 80 degrees at stock boost.

I think the stock one rad will run a bit hot, but should work fine granted all things stock. If you're going to run more boost, I'd run a better radiator. If you're interested, I've got the little pipe and ends so you can use a 240 radiator for the sr from HT if you're interested. Not asking for much. Make me an offer if you want em.

Shrouded or unshrouded?

I'm running at stock boost. For cooling, I ceramic coated the turbo manifold, turbo elbow, and downpipe. I am also using the stock SR radiator, fan and shroud. Even on super hot, sitting in traffic, southern California afternoons... I've never seen the temp needle waver.
