I just recently put another motor in my car and went with a differnt turbo setup..its a t3/t4 with 550cc sti injectors and a z32 maf with rom tune. Now when im coasting along and try to give it some gas..the car will slightly hesitate then go..it does this throughout any sort of rpm but at random times..sometimes it will sometimes it wont..also the car dies everytime i let off the throttle..would a safc correct this since i am running a greddy type s not recirced?

Im planning on getting one asap..but is this bad to drive the car like this?..it seems to be doing it now even when im at about 2,500-3,000rpm not even boosting and it starts to chug then i boost and it will go away and its also bogging during some shifts..will safc correct the bogging and stalling?..or are they more to correct stalling from using a bov that venting?

If its in the tune....the SAFC may or may or may not fix the problem. Did it ever run right?

Ok well heres the deal..i have a rom tune which has 2 switches on it..1 switch changes the map on the chip which has 2 tunes..the other when flipped down makes the car run like ****..well this problem started when my friend flipped that switch down and the car started to bogg really bad and barely drive..was smoking lots too..so i got back home noticed the flip was switched down(my ecu is kinda on the floor right now and the chip is sitting outside the ecu)..anyways i noticed it and switch it back up..the car still boged at 3k-4k rpm but didnt run as bad as when the switch was off..so i unplugged the ECU to reset it and see if that worked..the bogging went away for maybe another half hour to an hour and it came back..now when i come on boost it just stutters and chugs and wont go really..wont go psat 4k rpm if ive hit full boost by then...another thing i wanna know is if my spark plugs happend to be fouled or not gapped properly..would the car still idle normal but bogg at certain rpms?

Yeah, I would check you're ROM tune. What kind of smoke are you blowing?

It sounds like you're running way too rich. Or maybe your TPS has a dead spot? If you're hesitating before boost and then it goes away when you start boosting, it's most likely the tune that's the culprit.

Let your car idle for a minute or so, and then pull the plugs. Are they wet with fuel? If you're spark plug gap is too wide, you'll know cause the car will hesitate at high RPM especially when boosting.

Ive always heard the STI injectors were 525cc, but I could be wrong, it sounds like your tune is probubly the problem here. Who did your tune?

A person here in calgary sells these packages which is a z32 maf the sti injectors and the rom tune..now i baught my injectors and maf else where because i got a better price but from what i hear he has a great tune and decided to go with it..hopefully this chip is just screwed and another one will fix it..or maybe just need a new ECU..going to try both these and gap my plugs to 0.028..should be ok with my setup and the big turbo

while your at it grab yourself a can of electrical parts cleaner and spray it on the mafs, those things tend to get dirty easily, especially when shipping, its amazing how messed up the car will run if they are dirty.
