I just got my swap up and running and i was driving it around and when I rev it up it idles down really hard and tries to die or does die, or when its sitting idleing it tries to die if i've been driving. what could cause this? it's a s-14 SR20DET blacktop also my coolant temp doesn't work on the dash cluster any suggestions?

Whats your vacuum at? BOV not reciculated?? If you can adjust the spring on the BOV, try making it tighter

the set screw on the top of the valve. read up on the instructions or their website, but basically tighten it to keep the bov spring a little tighter, lets out less air, less stalling. you should look into recirculating, or getting a safc to control the decel air.

You probably need to get yourself an SAFC

Re-circulating will be cheaper and better course IMHO.

true, I just meant since it won't run rich in between shifts, won't stall since any air leaks go right back into the intake, etc. Whereas an SAFC "tricks" the ECU. I don't have either right now I run an open hks ssqv and an untuned ECU on the redtop. She runs pig rich, esp. at WOT. Doesn't stall though, it will rev down after throttle lift, but it doesn't die.

Recirc your bov to fix the stalling. Replace your coolant temp sender to fix the temp gauge.

Yeah there was notinh wrong with the temp sensor it was just so damn cold outside and the front mount kept it right at cole on the temp gauge, is there another way to fix it besides recirculating???

my temp sensor doesnt show anything either. i think its way too cold outside. or maybe its a bad sensor. my bros s13 sr reads normal.

I'm having the same problem. My temp sensor doesn't work 90 percent of the time and after my car warms up it dies on occasion when I let of the throttle to stop. I have a blitz bov I'll try adjusting it tonght, can anyone show me a pic of where the temp sensor goes? I'll order one of those up as well.

Yeah. There is an in depth explanation I could go into on it but for this thread, suffice it to say that the SSQV is SOMEWHAT immune to a lot of the atmospheric venting issues that other BOV's have.
