HKS makes an adjustable actuator but I don't know if it'll go that low. You'll probably have to get an electronic boost controller

You cannot drop boost below factory level, even with an electronic boost controller. Why do you want to run 5 psi anyways, you would hardly adding any power. The only way to do it, would be to find an actuator from a different application that opens at 5 PSI, you would have to modify it to fit the T25 of coarse but it is possible, just not worth it.

its for a Ka-t and 5psi is plenty for winter. has anyone done the modification before?

Come on man, think realistically. It's only a 2psi difference. Which shouldn't be a problem since I know you'll be running something other than a stock fuel management system. Or at least you should be

What does winter have to do with it, I run 11 PSI and they dont plow the roads around here for like a week after it snows. You have a T 25, once the tires start spinning the turbo cant keep up, it stops making boost, and believe me, you can spin the tires in the snow with 5 psi just as easily as with 7 psi.

If you are trying to get more traction in the winter get better tires and an AWD or FF car. The 240 is never going to have excellent traction in the winter and low boost isn't going to change that.

winters are a bit harsh in canada.. and the t25 makes boost as soon as you step on the gas in a Ka .. and keeps making boost up into the higher rpms. Winters are only 1 reason .. the other is that i want to run lower boost to make Ka#2 last longer.

Getting back to the topic ... has anyone here modified the T25 wastegate to 5psi or less?

Theres a 6 psi actuator, guess that would get you a little closer to your goal, that or buy a used SR actuator from someone thats worn out and doesnt boost a lot. The other option would be to go to an external gate, i think tial has a spring for the 38mm gate around 4.8 psi.

Or you can try to modify the boost restrictor in one of the stock boost solenoid's lines.

If dropping from 7 PSI to 5 psi is the difference between a blown motor and a not blown motor, you probably shouldn't have a turbo on there to begin with. No I am not talking **** about KA-Ts, it is a general statement.

No, you need a new actuator, one that is set for 5 psi.

The restrictor cannot lower the boost past the actuator set limit.
