Alright, my cars been running good until a couple days ago. Ive raced my car so yeah, but i was driving one day and noticed that at rpms over 4k my car starts making a noise. I can hear the turbo spool, but at the same time this weird noise like air leaking. It feels like the car seems to hesitate. Couple days later, my car just starts choking like a fuel cut or something. Now when my turbo spools, it makes that noise. I took the intake pipe off and checked the turbos fins to see if they were damaged, but there was no shaft play what so ever. So i just assumed that the turbo was in good condition. Today i just noticed that my vacuum reading is at 10 now(used to be like 18). I know i have a leaking exhaust, but it hasnt given me any problems until now. What could possibly causing this? Bad tubo? i have hks step1 cams and a stock turbo. Could it be that my turbo couldnt handle the cams and f'ed up. Car idles perfectly fine. i bought some gaskets and will be installing those tomorrow. Thanks alot.

Did you check for any vaccum leaks or lines that poped off? What does the noise sound like and were does it sound like it is coming from? Boost leak maybe?

+1 for vacuum line issue. check some couplers too. there could be fractures in those from old age.

sometimes there are problems with the exhaust manifold gaskets going out. check if you could move the manifold or turbo without excessive play.

sounds like your manifold studs might be backing out. Is the noise almost like air screeching?

not really screeching but it sounds like if the tires were rubbing on like a peice of cardboard or something. like a kkkkkkkkkkkk! haha if that sounds right. so no way it could be the turbo huh?

yup doesnt move. i cant find any vac. leaks anywhere. so you guys dont think the turbo took a dump?? there is no play at all, but does it mean that the turbo is in good condition? blown turbo seal??

the turbo seal would be blowing oil out of the exhaust. is your compressor wheel oily?
