Well i just recieved my AEM EMS and decided to try it out on my 97 KA24DE Automatic 240sx. After realizing that it def doesnt work with auto ( ) I took it out, and swaped back in my stock ecu. The car started fine, but when i place it in gear, the idle drops to about 500 rpm, and raises and lowers between 500 about 700 over and over. When i put it in neutral, It seems to idle fine, but when i place it in either park or drive, it freaks out. Is there something i may have done to the automatic transmission to have caused this? Ive changed spark plugs, checked timing, and replaced the front o2 sensor just to rule a few things out, but nothing seems to change. I am truly stumped. Also, when i drive the car for about 10- 15 min, the problem seems to go away. It almost acts like a vacuum leak, but ive checked all the lines and there fine. Any ideas would be helpful.

Well, i tried leaving the battery off last night in hopes that it might reset my ecu, and tcu. The problem is still there. Do i have to physically disconnect the tcu to reset this? Or is my tcu fried. Thanks for the quick responce.

You probably damaged a wire or pin on the harness connector for the computer when you removed it or plugged the EMS in. Inspect the are carefully.
