200 hp on a bike just seems insane to me. The only three motorcycles I've ridden weren't close to there (kz900, gsx-r1000, and gsx-r600) and still more power than I was prepared for. That being said, I'd take a 200 hp bike for a spin... if Michele would let me.

Come to think of it, no car that I currently drive has 200 hp...

i think BMW really woke a sleeping giant with thier new S1000RR. The new BMW puts 175hp down at the rear wheel. It was only a matter of time before the Japanese started to cacth up. The horsepower wars are just starting.

I didn't ride back then but they used to not limit top speeds on bikes. And all these people were dying so the Big 4 decided to have a another "gentelman's aggrement" similar to what they did with cars and limit the bikes to 186MPH or 299 KMH. But i dont think they limted what kind of power or how fast they can reach that top speed.

Peersonally I love it, but at the same time I really think the new liter bikes ahould be Iillegal. i own a 08 Honda CBR 1000RR. The motor is rated at 180hp and only weighs 427lbs wet with a full tank of gas. The thing is a abosulute monster pulls up in 3rd gear with ease.

So now with BMW leading the power pack and we all know that big numbers sell a lot of bikes the Japanese are going to be right behind them with just as much power but be more affordable. And the tech these bikes have is amazing. Toggle between fuel and power maps, ABS, traction control, electromnic sterring dampener. These bikes are awesome best bang for your buck performance ever.

They should be illegal though lol.

Saying a vehicle should be illegal because it performs too well is the most ridiculous thing I have EVER read.

I know it sounds rediculous. But if you ride a new liter bike you would exactly what i mean. It too easy for anybody to go out there and be a real danger on a public road. I have had my bike up to 165 and it was still pulling hard enough iot felt like it was gonna throw me off the back. It will go 180 all day and not break a sweat.

They should have some kind of saftey course people have to pass in order to own one. I mean these are race bikes available to the public now full out of the box race bikes. Just put some tires on it.

There is some sort of course people take to own them... it's called a motorcycle driver's test. Anyone can cause a ton of damage on any motorcycle.

It is not required to take a saftey course. You can go to the DMV and just take the driving test. No course required as long as you have a current drivers liscence.. And most people take the test on a enduro or small easily manvueved bike. Not a 1000cc crotch rocket. And once you pass on a little 250 shadow you are able to ride any bike you want.

Don't get me wrong i don't really think they should be illegal. It just the level of perfomance they have for the cost is really just crazy. I was just saying they should be, more as figure of speech to express there awesomness. To go 0-60 in 3 seconds for less then 12 grand is awesome.

I'd rather be hit by some retard doing 160 on a 450-lb motorcycle than that same retard doing 85 in his mom's Civic.

Outlawing things is silly. Let them all kill themselves, and the market will adjust.

I would agree with that. 450lbs is way better then 3000. Here is a story form my other forum about it's a miracle no one was killed. I can't belive he survived. Again i didn't litterally mean outlaw them, i was just saying how baddass they are now.

The idiot operating the bike has a choice. The person riding b**** may not have that choice. The person/people getting hit certainly don't have that choice. That's the tragic part.

not for long in Connecticut, a law will be passed shortly that mandates that anyone wanted a motorcycle license will have to take the riders basic course.

Don't hate the game, hate the player. You want a super powerful bike, make it harder to obtain a license for that class of superbike. Make it so only qualified riders are licensed to ride such behemoths.

Just cause it doesn't exist doesn't mean there shouldn't be a similar test for cars. God only know how many idiots have killed themselves in a car far beyond their skills. Then again, a sort of graduated licensing system is exactly what the automakers wouldn't want since it would probably cost them a sale.

That's exactly my point. Any vehicle can be a catastrophic wrecking ball. It doesn't matter how much power something has, it can cause major damage in nonsensical hands. A test for more powerful vehicles? LOL. Let's let anyone own a .22 but you must take a test for the 9mm!

Put airbags on the OUTSIDE of vehicles. Problem solved.

I think they did it on Smash Lab, tested it on a train, worked great.

LMAO i didnt mean to start this kinda of debate. I really don't think they should be illegal. i was just saying they are so rediculousy freaking fast now. Most can go from 0 to 100 back to 0 in 8 seconds. I love riding and I love superbikes the most.

That new ZX10 is like a gonna be awesome too. The new traction control and ABS systems should be able to help keep the bike on the road and the driver from gettin in to far over his head.

It's great with that kinda power we are gettin close to Moto GP bikes for the street. It's like having a F1 car for the cost of Altima I love it.

traction control and ABS are for girls...

...if you cant ride a 1000cc supersport, dont buy a 1000cc supersport. I tell people that every single day of my life.

And GP bikes weigh about 150 lbs less than a streetbike for comparison

Ghost Rider is a sick mother. Ive seen all his vids. %00hp is scary fast on a bike with an extra short wheelbase, good for those 200 mph wheeies
