I don't recommend doing this. Nissan engineered the spoiler with gaskets around the bolt holes, adding silicone will interfere with the proper fitment of the gasket.Jostudly wrote:I am wondering if I should get them to put silicone around the bolts as well?
Your new vehicle warranty (it should be in the glove box along with the owners manual) is quite clear regarding issues with accessories, parts, etc. When installed by a Nissan dealer, they are covered by your vehicle warranty. In the case of corrosion perforation (surface rust is not 'perforation'), it's 5yrs unlimited mileage. Also I am wondering if the dealers will guarantee the work if I get rust or leaks in the future?
I suggest you speak to your dealer about warranty coverage and how it applies to your vehicle and the spoiler.
