I don't recommend doing this. Nissan engineered the spoiler with gaskets around the bolt holes, adding silicone will interfere with the proper fitment of the gasket.
Also I am wondering if the dealers will guarantee the work if I get rust or leaks in the future?
Your new vehicle warranty (it should be in the glove box along with the owners manual) is quite clear regarding issues with accessories, parts, etc. When installed by a Nissan dealer, they are covered by your vehicle warranty. In the case of corrosion perforation (surface rust is not 'perforation'), it's 5yrs unlimited mileage.

I suggest you speak to your dealer about warranty coverage and how it applies to your vehicle and the spoiler.

Luckily, my new Rogue came with one already. But if not - I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that myself. I'd go to the dealer too

Well my Nissan dealer did not want to attempt installing my spoiler. They told me to bring it to a body shop which I was hoping I would have the work guaranteed from the dealer but I will have to bring it somewhere else. The spoilers template did not line up with the holes at first until I played a little with the template to make it fit. I am wondering why there are 2 extra holes in the middle with no threads? Not sure what these are for as I only received 2 bolts and 2 washers.

That sucks that the dealer wouldn't do it. Is there another Nissan dealer nearby?

Usually, dealerships will install stuff like that - if it is a factory part.

There are four holes because there are two posts and two bolts to anchor the spoiler and act as guide.

Yes but there are 2 extra holes with yellow plastic with no threads in them. What is the purpose of these?

Good news! I think it improves the look of the Rogue. I still cannot believe that the dealer would not install it. That seems crazy to me.

Yes, strange the dealer would not install it after booking me the appointment. Oh well I gave my money to someone else and they did a great job. Definetly improves the look of the vehicle.

Hello, this is great info. Thanks! My problem is different though. I bought an OEM rogue spoiler but it did not come with a template. I tried contacting the online seller but no reply. I tried my local Nissan dealer and they did not have the template. They gave me a number to call but I got a useless call center. Where can I get a template or if anyone has a spare template or even a scanned one to send me, I would certainly appreciate it. I have a spoiler but I can't install it. Any help or suggestion is welcome. thanks guys!

Just look for an oem rogue spoiler on ebay and contact the seller for a template.
