WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Do not continue to read this if you have not seen Matrix Revolutions!

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Ok guys...here's a place to fully discuss this movie! I've tried to fully warn people of the upcoming spoilers, so read on at your own risk!

I was really disappointed with the movie. I think the way that the movie ended was totally weak. Neo only managed to achieve some sort of temporary peace! I thought that was totally weak.

And what's up with Trinity dying at the end? There were so many things that they introduced that could have just been left out. The whole thing with the train was a complete waste of time. Also what was up with the little girl and the new Oracle??? I know they explained that something happened to the Oracle and she had to find a new body, but it just didn't fit very well.

Overall I say the movie didn't resolve everything. It was a must see, simply because the second one left everyone hanging. I give this movie a very low rating. Probably an "F" since it failed to resolve all the issues that it opened up.

What do you guys think about the movie??

I liked it a lot but I am absolutely heartbroken that Trinity died...that kinda ruined the movie for me :( (Rule for the Wachowskies: Don't EVER kill off your best looking actress) I thought the ending was actually pretty decent but Trinity dying just really messed it up for me. All in all, a good movie that wasn't what I anticipated but satisfied me with the exception of Trinity dying. The EXTREME Christ references to Neo were a little over the top too, I'm going to have to watch the other two again now.

The ending sucked hard! The rest of the movie rocked. I kept waiting for all my questions from the second one to be answered and they were never even addressed. i.e. Where did Neo's real world powers come from? More info on the previous matrixes? Just who was the Merovingian? etc... By the way, the actress who played the Oracle died, that's why they got a new one.

The Merovingian was Satan, or at least supposed to be. Didn't you notice when they made their descent into hell? (Hell looked kinda fun :D)

I haven't seen it yet, but I don't care about knowing what happens. What should I look for when I do see it (tomorrow). Is there anything that any of you wish you could see over, or is there any possible "hidden answers" from the 2nd movie?

Nothing was really "hidden". I think that everything that was in the movie either made sense or it didn't. I personally didn't realize that the Merovingian was supposed to be Satan. How did you come up with that? I mean I suppose it does make sense, but he just wasn't very "Satan Like".

The Merovingian is not the devil. He is a trafficer of information. The root is derived from the Merovingian kings who were Gods and shared secrets and bred with humans, which enraged the mighty Gods and caused a clash. To restart the earth, they caused a flood to wipe out civilization. Thus, the Merovingian, is derived from information trafficers.

Nick

p.s. The movie was ok but it didn't WOW me like the other two did. The ending was extremely predictable and I, like you was frustrated my questions didn't get answered. Here's what I think: The Wachowski brothers can't end a movie. The movie looked like they needed a 4th one but weren't going to get it. They had way too much to pack into that one movie. I agree that the train scene was pointless. Also, the Merovingian is supposed to be a complete badass, unfortunately, we see him for 30 seconds. I didn't mind Trinity dying because it made since to die for the cause. Neo was always supposed to be Christ-like, even from the first movie. I went back and watched the first movie yesterday and some of the references are pretty cool (i.e. Thomas Anderson's convo with his boss about missing work)

All in all, the trilogy was good and that's what we need to look at it as: a trilogy. I just can't wait for ROTK...it will be the best movie I'll ever see in my lifetime.

Ugh, now I'm confused...I could have sworn that the button they pushed on the elevator to go down to the Merovingian's club said Hell, and certainly the people in the club looked satanic and demon like. I'll have to see it again :D

Ah, yes. I've never heard it called that. That should be the best movie. The first 2 were amazing and I'm certain the 3rd will be the best of the 3.

NO, it was a red button that said "Help". Yeah, the Merovingian was referred to like he was something to reckon with, but never actually did anything to make you fear/respect him. It was good to see his wife again though. I don't know the actresses name, but I think she's beautiful. I believe she was the princess in Braveheart.

I'm certainly expecting much better from ROTK and Star Wars Episode 3. Of course episode 3 will have to have a very tragic and sad ending since we know who things pick up in Episode 4. Almost all of the Jedi are gonna have to die, along with Padame and Anakin must turn into Darth Vader. Basically episode 3 will end with the bad guys winning.

Yeah this movie was a bit of a letdown. I enjoyed the Battle of Zion somewhat but it was too tedious for my tastes. It never really felt like the inhabitants, save for a few soldiers, were under any real threat. The first two minutes of it rocked though, especially with that giant tunneller and insurgency of the sentinels.

As far as visuals go, this is easily one of the most beautiful movies to come out this year (nothing coming out this year can top Winged Migration). Machine city was breathtaking. Neo's rain-soaked last stand against Agent Smith was spectacular stuff. But in the end, this movie left something to be desired. I adored the first Matrix but these last two aren't anything more than good eye-candy action scenes threaded together. Oh well, I still have ROTK to look forward to! :D

She's got a great body for sure but I'd personally pick Monica Belluci or Jada Pinkett over her.

:Werd There's something about Carrie...she's more than the sum of her parts. But the other two are hotter.

Yeah, it's not exactly her figure or anything, it's just something about her and her character that rocks my world every time I watch one of the movies...she looks GOOD in leather and can kick serious ***, what's not to like? On top of that he has a human appeal and is a genuinely good person. Jada Pinkett does nothin for me but Monica Belluci is quite attractive as well. Oh, and damn my friends for saying the button said Hell...I hadn't paid good attention to see if it was help or hell :(

The women in the movie had very different roles. Jada was tough and competent, Monica was eye candy, the Oracle was a mother figure, the little girl was just that...a little girl, representing innocene. Trinity was a mix of several of those things. No doubt she was tough and kicked serious butt, also she was tender a loving when it came to Neo. I believe the way they dressed these actresses helped define their roles.

Fo sho, just check out what Monica was wearing in Revolutions...eye candy was all she was, although I now wonder about the kiss from Reloaded, I guess it wasn't really significant. The clothes as well as Neo's trenchcoat I think are all important. Anyone notice his trenchcoat got significantly more stylish/sophisticated (as did he) in Reloaded? I couldn't tell if it was a new coat in Revolutions though.

Overall, I liked the movie and I think that it was significantly better than Reloaded, but still nothing compared to the first movie. I walked out of the theater feeling like there was something missing, it just didn't answer all the questions and now never will. The effects were awesome though, gotta love the rain. Personally, I kinda liked the train scene and it did make sense to create a link between the two worlds. All in all, I enjoyed it, but I was left feeling like there should be more.

Yeah, many questions unanswered. like what happened to the twins? I guess you assume they died in the escalade explosion.

I think there might be as well. They set it up to be that way with the architect coming and asking how long the peace was gonna last blah blah blah, and the little girl asking if they would ever see Neo again. My question is, where would they go from there? hmmm...peace, sounds like an interesting movie. Another war....sounds like the first three movies all over again. We'll see what's up their sleeves...if anything.

Honestly I hope there are no more movies. This one proved to me that the story idea was kind of getting old. I don't see how another one could be any better.

Nick

p.s. Yeah, from what I recall the twins "went invisible" during the explosion and it didn't look like they died. Don't know what's up with that. If i find out I'll let you know.

I highly doubt they'll make another one. So far reviews have been mixed, more negative than positive (at least from professional critics, anyway). Even among hardcore fanboys this one was seen as a letdown. They've really milked the Matrix franchise for all its worth.

Hey, just wondering if anyone else caught this. When Neo was stuck in the subway tunnel with that indian family, it read "Mobil Street" or something in the background. At first, I didn't think anything but the name was shown in more than a few shots. Coincidence or product placement? Afterall Reloaded was notorious for product placement: Cadillac, Audi, Ducati, Sprite.

As far as I can tell, it's just the name of the train station.

I too noticed Mobil Street, I dont know if it was really product placement though, if it was it wasn't GOOD product placement ;) If they make another one, I'll be PISSED. I think they just put the reference to seeing him again so that they could continue the Christ theme by alluding to a resurrection.

I have to agree with Nathan, I do remember the button saying Hell, not help. There merovigian I feel was the devil. It reminds me of the arch angel with his falling and whatnot. He fell because he no longer had purpose after he was replaced by a different program in the matrix.

The first BIG thing I think you need to realize is the obvious biblical comparision the movie WANTS you to think about. Just like early christianity, there has always been discussions on Heresey "sp?", and like the LAST matrix, there will always be discussion/disagreements on parts of the matrix, you can consider it a type of Heresey if you will.

One way/thing you can look at is the hole idea and delimemma about CHOICE. Like the story about adam and eve, I see you could put Neo in the role of eve, adam, and the serpent. He chose in the 1st matrix to take the pill like adam decided to eat the apple, yet he could also fit in the role of eve. If I can remember correctly, Eve was warned by god about the evilness and "lying" personality of the serpent, just like how Agent Smith "almost acting like god" warned to NEO "eve" that Morpheus "serpent" was the most dangerous criminal alive "evil..". Unfortunately you can sit and discuss/debate on what is correct and what isn't, it all comes down to personal preference and CHOICE. You have to CHOSE which version you will believe.

Also about the ending, at first I was outraged "sp?" by the ending but like its been stated before, the movie had come around full circle. The whole plot of the matrix is a vicious circle. Each circle can be looked at like a cycle. The trilogy shows one of the cycles, and to give a 4th would to be starting over again. The questions unanswered are kinda like the qeustion to me....."who came first? the chicken or the egg?" or "if a tree falls in the middle of a forrest and no one heard it, does it make a sound?".

The movie did exactly what the W. Bros. wanted it to, it is making all of us think. THINK ABOUT IT, this is a car enthusiast club and we are begining to discuss things I would of never even began to think we would here.

I could keep typing and discussing this, but I am tierd. Time for bed.

It was decent...I mean storywise...wtf? Visual effects were awesome tho. And hell looked like a fun place;)Honestly, I think you should watch this movie to see how the story ends, but for me it made me ask more questions than it answered.
