i just installed a set on my S14 today and love them, they are cheap, easy to install, and they take all that sloppyness out of the rear end. they dont make the ride worse at all IMHO, and i havnt noticed any new noises (and i roll windows-down, no a/c owns me).

plus, if any of you guys are into drifting, these are an awesome upgrade, my car feels much more planted as it slides now, and i felt like i could control it more easily.

all in all they are definitly worth buying, and the guys at SPL are really nice so pick up a set from them, i promise you wont regret it.

btw, sry i dont have any pics right now.

I must say Bret's S14 is tons nicer than mine, I'm a bit jealous of it hehe.

Good to hear that people enjoy our product.

For those that are interested here's the info on the spacers:

Note: The current batch of spacers are anodized blue :)

Subframe bushing collars )reduces some of the free play in the subframe bushings yielding a more responsive suspension and reducing wheel hop. These aluminum collars work by compressing the subframe bushings, our 8 piece design compresses the top and bottom of the bushings more evenly than 4 piece flat spacers that just compress from the bottom. Note: top piece is slotted to allow installation without dropping the whole subframe.

I was thinking about buying these but I had not heard anything about how well they worked. Alan do you have a number I can call you at. I want to ask you a couple of questions about my suspension set up.

SPL, any chance i can get you to cut me a deal for Tension Rods, Rear Upper Control Arms, Toe Rods(all these for sure) and possibly the Traction Rods. Since it's basically your whole s13 catalog except the control arms, as much as i would love to have them.=)

Sure, we could definately look into that.

Send me an email: [email protected]

BTW, I'd suggest the traction arms, completion of the rear suspension in the setup and it is an active component in the suspension.

My subframe bushings on my s14 are busted, can i install the spl spacers to correct this or do i have to drop the subframe and replace the bushings? I understand that the spacers take up some of the slop in the subframe but do you first have to have decent bushings? Thanks.

Hmm, kinda hard to say. If they are toast then I'd suggest going with the full bushing that we offer. If you think that the spacers might save them then obviously that is a viable option.

Either one is gonna be better than what you have now, but if the bushings are toast then it's time for the full bushing.

We have both the collars and the aluminum bushings in stock.

Here's a pic of our bushing set, they are alot nicer in person, very shiney, and we all know shiney things are cool.

I do not know of any Aaron's that I have met. I'm the only person at SPL this whole week so just gimme a call whenever, generally I'm about half way asleep from the boredom.

alan, i received all of the parts. They look great. I have all the rear ones on, but the spacers. BOY do i need an alignment. I'm installing the tension rods today, and we will see about the spacers.

(the allen screws, are those for the tension rods?) I used the stock bolts to mount everything else, beside the one that came in the RUCA.

Yeah the package of bolts and nuts is for the tension rods, be sure you don't torque them down to stock spec. There is no need to do so cause of the locking nut.

I was recently under my car (installing my s15 hlsd) and I noticed that the inside of the rear tires were a lot more wore than the outside. I have the rear subframe collars but have not installed them. I was wondering if it was the open diff combined with the weak subframe bushings that cause the car to wear out on the insides of the rear tires or are there other things as well.

Toe, and rear camber cause that.

well everything is on, as well as the spacers..but it's all over the road 'cuz of no alignment. Although at this moment it is sitting outside the alignment shop waiting for the much needed corrections.

Cool cool, those pilloballs make a big difference don't they :)

Makes the rear end feel like it should from the factory.

that it does, although the rear spacers are sure makin' a heck of a lot of noise...i'll double check everything, but they clunk quite a bit.

I just got it back from an alignment...$140 later, at first they told me it wouldn't be a problem for the $70, then they called me back. hehe. Although they made all the employee's come check out the stuff on it at Les Schwab. They were very impressed. In fact they said it was the nicest import suspension they had ever been able to touch=) So props to SPL=)
