Hi!

I just bought my '95 S14 with the SR swap already done. I assume whomever did the swap used the JDM transmission. I noticed on my test drive today that the speedometer seems to read like 15% too low wneh I passed one of those radar signs. Does the US 240sx come with different gearing than the JDM? Is there anything different you need to do with the speedo wiring to make it work right after an SR swap?

(btw I searched this but found nothing)

Thanks!

Ya didn't search well enough. SR transmission sensors w/ KA speedo = incorrect speed.

Switch the speed sensor to one that goes with the chassis, then you should be fine.

Ok, that sounds logical. So if my SR speed sensor makes the KA speedo read too high, JDM S13/s14 must come geared higher (numerically) than US version, right?

That's probably a cheap, easy thing to try, I'll make that one of my first priorities when I get the car back.

Thanks!

Ok, I will try to scrounge a used stock KA speed sensor and see what happens. I am sure that will fix it, I think whomever did my swap left a few things undone..
