Speedo and Running Light Wires

Hello all,

I have finally gotten around to installing my new stereo system in my 2011 Rogue S. I have had the HU, amp, and speakers installed for a few weeks, and everything is great. I am now have time again to finish up a few loose ends.

1. Speed Control on the Stereo - I hooked up the yellow according to this post (pioneer-avic-d3x-in-rogue-t332115.html) but that didn't seem to work. Is that the correct wire to be using in my model year? Anything else I can do to troubleshoot?

2. Dimmer Control - I understand Nissan has a fancy dimmer control with varying the voltage on the wire, so I can't use the factory harness. However, I was thinking that I could just use a wire for one of the running lights, so that when I flipped the headlight on, it would pull from the tail lights that go on as well. Thoughts? I have no idea what wire that would be, so any help would be great.

I got into the reverse lights no problem for my backup cam thanks to this post (rogue-backup-sensors-intallation-pics-t439955.html), and that is all working fine.

i wouldnt go near this. starting to 'experiment' with wires & voltages is one sure way of frying out either your speedo, bcm, etc. dimmer control on aftermarket head-units isnt necessary.
