Just wondering about what speed most people crash at. Both of mine have been really slow, well one was when I was stopping so I only hit the pole at like 5-10. The other I never got above 5. And yes, I know I suck at driving, that's why I don't even pretend I can drift or race. The first was when i was making a turn and I stopped for the sign then started to go and I couldn't see around the corner so I ended up hitting the car. The second, which was tonight, was when i went around a corner too fast and I ****ed up and just slammed the brakes so I skidded into a pole. Not much damage, I'm just going to hammer it out. Sucks getting use to a car with abs and then moving to one without, ****ing bad habbits.

Yeah it always sucks hitting large objects like that. If only I'd hit people rather than cars or poles, least that way there'd be a lot less damage to my car. That and people heal so it would be cheaper than paying for damage to another car. That's where driving a less known car like the 240sx comes in handy, people have a hard time identifing it, so they just remember the color. Not that a baby could really testify against me, anybody could've hit him really, wasn't my fault he was playing on the sidewalk, he should've been getting a ball in the street or something.

Well, I'll tell you all something...........I've been hit by a car via my knees......it SUCKS!!!!!!! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. And it doesn't heal fast or ever for that matter. Plus you walk like a gimp for about 3 months after.

I've had a few. They've all between between 10-40mph. There's nothing like that realization of, "Wow, I don't have control of the car right now." ;)

lol, the feeling is worse afterwards for slow speeds. Because you just look at it and it's like, how the hell didn't I avoid that? Where as with high speeds it's just kind of like, oh well, not much I can do from here, hope the car stops soon. Either way, my problem is I like trance out or something when I drive. I still follow the road, I just don't notice anything in front of me, like people, especialy tiny squishy ones that I like to call microwave size for obvious reasons. People say it happens on the highway but I've never had it happen on the highway, it's always in stop and go traffic like going to school.

Most accidents occure 15-20 mph slower than everyone thinks. Unless your in a totally oblivious state and stay on the gas while running into a non-moving object, your car is slowing down. Most people are able to get on the brakes/turn the car sideways and slow down considerably before impact.

I hit my friends truck once pullin into a parking space. only time Ive ever made a car hit something. However I was in an escort on a dirt road, the driver didnt know how to countersteer so he was driving fast... we were probaly going like 30 he tryed to catch the back end like at least 3 times but failed. we only had to pull it out of some bushes and dust it off. Same friend months later same road was going like 50 into a left hand turn that is probably a 40 mph turn, so he locked up the brakes. it was harder to pull it out of the chainlink fence cause the links caught onto the corner of the hood near the windshield when he backed up. it shaved off the passanger side mirror ripped a 3" by 1' foot slot in the fender and scratch some paint. we went straight into the metal pole support for the fence and snapped it pretty cleanly inhalf. I cant belive he only damaged one small pannel of hiss car after all was said and done. I don't realy like driving with him anymore.

My only true accident happened when I merged off an interstate onto another expressway. You can normally take the turn at like 70 but someone must have been scared (I tell you, sometimes the nervous drivers are the most dangerous) because they slammed on their brakes going around the turn and everyone behind them had to slam on theirs too. I was kind of sleepy at the time which probably didn't help things, but all of a sudden I realized, oh crap, everyone is stopped. I slammed on the breaks and slid from 60 to about 20 then into the back of a van. I feel like a real @$$ and we both pull onto the shoulder the guy comes back complaining this is was like his 3rd accident in his brand new van in the past month. It turns out, that he had a HUGE trailer hitch installed that stuck out like 1.5 feet behind his van, and it had speared my bumper. There was absolutly no damage to his van, besides wiping some paint off. He said he didn't care about it and just left. I had to replace my left headlight and bumper, and was going to take the buckled hood to a metal shop until my dad decided to try to pound it back into shape with a sledgehammer and a pair of pliers  (ouch.) It was also pretty cool when the headlight bulb exploded while I was driving in the rain.

when i first got my license me and my dad built a 3000gt vr-4 and neways i was showing it to my friend on this new road by my house. so i was pushing it as hard as i could cause he said his corato was faster than it. i was doing about 120 and then my friend says theres a turn coming up. by then we were already in the turn doing about 110 and then the back end got loose and i held it for like half a second, which felt like eternity, and then i slid off the road and hit a barb wire fence. the car didnt have that much damage i was just scared as . i got just about as luck as you can be, and so now i dont really try to show my car on the road ne more. after that i realized that im not invincable.

this is true for most accidents, but in my integra accident it was around a 100% blind corner. my freind had not driven on this road before, so he didnt know what was coming. we also left 128 feet of skidmarks, but that was just the outside wheel from the speed of the turn. someone just happened to be right next to the turn walking, so they also saw us get airborn. you should have seen the tire marks going all around the turn, straight up the curb, and straight up the rock. it was really nasty. as for the car, it was such a hard impact that the front of the hood actually folded like an accordian and touched the windshield. this was also due to the fact that we hit it on a downward angle. my cell phone was in my hand and it landed aprox. 40 feet in front of the car...

My first accident was in my corolla, this stupid gurl T-Bone me @ 40 mph, s*** wat da hell are u driving 40mph in a parkin lot. took a look @ her lincense, well she just go it 3 weeks ago, a 16 year old driver. she had a 93ish mustang, she made it all pretty, wit a cd player, seat covers. but when she crashed into me she was leakin' all type of fluids. haha stupid lady. da bad thing was that my stupid insurance co. made it a 50/50 and now i've have a point against me.

Just remember to always wear yer seat belts. it really helps out and I think that guy on the Interga post agrees w/ me?

I saw an integra going to HIN in seattle last Saturday with his buddies in a big row of cars on the freeway, all of them driving like effing morons. Anyways, he cut off one car, swerved back into the carpool lane he just came from, then spun, hit the guardrail, spins some more, slides all the way across 5 lanes of traffic and into the right hand side ditch and buries the front end, then inertia takes over and flips the car lengthwise(end over end, not barrel roll) and onto it's roof.

This started at what must have been 75+mph, and ended in slow motion. Surreal

On december 21st I hit a car (pulled out in front of me) at about 35mph. Problem was I was riding my motorcycle at the time, and I had a friend on the back. She was pretty much ok, but she squished me between her and the car. I woke up a month later with some casts and an unbelivable amount of pain. Amazingly, I've been working full time for over a month and *most* of my pain is under control now.WOOT!Moral of the story: no matter how bad your car accident was, it could always have been far worse. Be thankful you had a cage.

Edit: and if you ride for god's sake wear a helmet and gear!

when i was 17 i had a ford tempo and i was driving to school around 6:20 am one december and i fishtailed on new ice on this corner, over corrected and fishtailed the other way, over corrected again and spun around and hit this row of like 10 mailboxes. i guess i was going about 20-25. i missed a pole by about a foot but the mailbox row pretty much exploded and there was mail allll over this guy's front yard. i got out to inspect the damage and i saw that i hit one of those litte green phone boxes too lol. on the way home from school the mail was still all over that guy's yard hahah. had some damage to my hood but that's it.

the next june, my dad was like, "how'd you get those scratches on your hood"i said "i hit some mailboxes"he looked at me funny and said "why'd you do that?"and i said "it was icy"and he looked at me funny again and said "what?? it's JUNE"and i said "i know, that happened in december"hahah shows how much he notices stuff

I was riding on my friend's 240 on I-20 going 70-80 when we had to swerve to avoid some car merging onto our lane from the left and the car started fishtailing. After several eternities, overcorrections, and 360s later we end up on the far left shoulder without a scratch. Man, we had so many close calls in that car it almost seemed immortal. Months later I rode the in what was to be the last moments of that black hatchback. While on the way to school my friend decided to race a civic in this neighborhood that had a slow left curve. We entered it at about 85-90 when his rear broke loose and we were immediately sideways. We slid towards the two oncoming lanes, hopped the curb, and apparently hit 3 or so poles (I didn't feel anything) before ending up in a school yard.

The first accident I was in occured at a red light. I was stopped and a a$$ clown going to fast in his f-150 hit me at what was his 10mph as he told his insurance co.

Second accident my car was involved in, was when it was parked, another a$$ clown backed up into my bumper at 5mph and tried to play it off like he didn't jack up my bumer.

Another guy I know was driving like a jack a$$ and drove off a cliff. Car was totaled and he hurt his legs and walked on a cast for a while.

A friend drove his car on wet highway with some pretty close to slick Falkens and lost control of his car at 55 and crashed the rear end into the guard rail.

all I gotta say is that the 240'll take a pretty good beating and keep you alive. just depends on how much of a beating you'll get.

My accident occured at about 9-15mph. Pretty slow, and pretty crappy, lost 2 volk av3's and my car. It was a wet night... on my way home from dropping off now x-gf after seeing the third matrix. I had been messing around with fishtails recently in my beloved 240, even in the rain. Never really had a problem with throwing out the back-end, especially in the rain... SO im at this red light, HUUUUGE intersection, left turn, wet street... stupidity saturating my mind, when I decide that Im gonna take out my backend. So I did, had it out pretty damn good too, before I realized that I was way outta control, overcorrected, once, twice, then it was gone, spun around, smacked a curb and just stopped... bent peices of metal that aren't supposed to bend...I hated myself and sugar ray (it was what I was listening to) from that day forward........... moment of silence for the deceased rims............thank you...
