there are a few speed bumps around the back of then engineering campus at my school, they aren't as tall but have a sharper pitch, only like half that in width. I was driving up on it and saw it too late. I had to slam the breaks then the accel to get enough of a rear squat to make it over. I'm not even that low to the ground either.

There's two of those randomly on the road to my school. I hit one a 50ish. Got about 6" of air in a full size car. lol

Glad I didn't break an axle. Knocked my tire out of balance though.

I've used my saturn wagon to jump a lot of these speed jumps.

You got balls for attempting that, I wouldve parked it far somewhere else and foot it.

I just put on my hazards and avoid them or tell them to go around, people get so confused. I have to zig zag through my neighborhood just to avoid them.

I actually just got back from one. I hate Wal Mart.
but hey.. you can't hate their return policy... s*** rocks!

I found this old a** fram oil filter in my garage while cleaning it... it was for my mom's old accord that she didn't even have anymore.

Went to walmart, didn't have a receipt, but it was still in its original box, so they gave me store credit... no questions asked. That was like 5 free bucks! haha

Geez. All the scrapes on top of that thing.. figure that'd be a sign to modify that thing for less of a chance to ruin cars..

There are some nasty ones like that around here. My Z isn't too low, but it is lowered. Problem with it is that the front bumper sticks out farther past my front wheels, it makes it pretty easy to scrape when changing inclination.

Anyways one night me and my buddies were just driving around and one of by friends in BMW 5 Series who no longer cares about his car decides to try and get air off these speed bumps (which may I add he succeeded at). He hit the speed bump, which I would say is very similar to the one that started this thread going around 70kmph (~44mph).

Yeah dude, that's one thing you can't complain about there. I think I've even been able to return stuff I didn't get there because Target wouldn't accept it without a receipt!

try driving in san francisco...there aren't many 'purposely made' speedbumps but the streets are so f'ed up that I have scraped on fat a** bumps in the road.

i seriously cry every time I drive my car in SF.

OMG this made my day!

Funny Funny Stuff!

I will share a short story with you.

One time me and my buddies were stocking up on snacks before we all went for a cruise around the city. Well my buddy that drives a Honda Del Sol has it slammed pretty damn low to the ground. Well after we got done buying all of our snacks, drinks, Ect... We planned out a route and were on our way. Well we like to drive in a specific order which i will not go into detail about, but the Del Sol always fallows from behind. Me being second to last in the line i am always checking to make sure he is right there with me while we cruise.

Well as we are leaving the corner store the dip or drop off out of the parking lot is a tad bit steep in the initial first 12 inches, and it is very hard to decipher where your tires are going because of how the road angles. Well we all get out and i am looking in my rear view mirror and the del sol is caught on the curb and he had so much weight in the trunk his frame slammed and the front wheels did not catch the asphalt lol.

It was funny because we were all COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to it until we were like a good 300 feet away and hes standing in the road waving his arms for us to come back hahaha.

Good times.

One Love,

Ghasty

U know what bro? I think it was one of those "In the moment, not thinking about it" kinda things.

because he has a phone lol

It was a good day that day, The whole day he thought his car was ruined just because the frame rails got scratched up a little bit. He is one of those people who hears a sound or sees ONE LITTLE IMPERFECTION and thinks everything is ruined or broken haha.

Good Times.

I have several of those in my neighborhood, and they look the same, but the one you drove over might be a little bit bigger. My fmic is only about 3-4" off the ground, and as long as I take a nice angle over the bump, the fmic doesn't scrape, but the exhaust scrapes a little.

Now there's a corner store I go to with one normal angle up into the lot, and one with an 18" drop over 18" of distance.... talk about effing up your front end attempting that... I've only nailed it with crazy angles on a stock malibu LOL

I bottomed out just going up an incline on a one way street into a parking lot, you'd think someone would figure it out to make roads more able to handle all the low cars, especially with all these hybrid craptastics running around 2 in off the ground, no wonder everyone wants a damn SUV

That sucks Adrian. Have you surveyed the damage yet? I'd be pissed too. I know your car is low, but having it get stuck, that lets me know that the "bump" is way too freaking tall. I agree with going to Walmart and the local municipality to see about having it shaved down or replaced.
