I wanted to go to Walmart on my lunch break, and I went to the one that was closest to my office... which is the one in a city called Montebello. I went there a long time ago, but this is the first time I've encountered this speed bump, so I'm guessing its new.

this s*** was ridiculous! Yeah, I know about the "dip & speed bump" maneuver... but by the time I saw the speedbump, I felt like it was too late because there was another car already behind my slow a**... so I tried taking it head on... which resulted in ->

not only did my lip scrape on it, as I went over, my rear wheels completely left the ground, leaving my front wheels down on the ground, and my frame rails resting on the pinnacle of the speed bump. I literally had to get out of my car and push my car from the rear till my rear wheels received grip on the speedbump to get out. No one even helped me out, they just watched my fail, lol.

anyways... I know you guys can probably care less... but I just wanted to share my story

like seriously.. who decided to do this? As I'm taking pics of this speed bump from hell, REGULAR cars are scraping their frame rails on this thing trying to get over... REGULAR CARS!

Scrape marks are obviously all over that thing. The engineers that design these things apparantly have no common sense for the cars of today or think everyone drives trucks and suv's.Nowadays it seems cars are getting lower factory ride heights.

Yeah I have to avoid any kind of speed bump at all times. I did the same thing as you one time. I had to do it and I got stuck. Thankfully I had a friend with me in the car. But even with him jumping in the trunk while i was throttling it still didn't get off of it... -_- .. eventually some truck with a hook and chain came and pulled me off of it. Super embarrassing.

You ain't got to lie to kick it. Thats not in Montebello, its in Pico Rivera. lol. If it wasn't for my personal experience with those damn speed bumps I would discredit your whole story based on that criteria alone. Nah. Should have took pictures. Would have been a good "lol".

oops.. yeah, that's Pico, not Montebello... ugh I get confused with all these damn small a** cities right next to each other. I work in Downy, which is like down the street too, lol.

wow... if i had a brand new car and it scrapped on that thing i would be p***ed off. someone haha not me to much work but good idea. should start a lawsuit against the company that built that bump... its obviously damaging cars. if i got stuck on there and it scrapped up the whole underbelly of my 240 i mean were talking scrapping exhaust damaging catbacks that stuff can get expensive.

hmmm...

Yeah, we have some like those in our NEIGHBORHOOD. They're a bit lower/smaller but the same shape. Super annoying. If you've ever been to N Phoenix/Scottsdale, you know how they are about speedbumps here. Ugh...

Sorry bout your bad luck Adrian.

I had speed bumps in my neighborhood that I had to drive through, when I lived in GA. So I had to adjust my ride height to barely clear those speed bumps. Some of the ones that I was able to avoid were as bad as the ones you posted. I use to scrape when I'd drive my wife's completely stock SE-R.

Note to self: stay away from pico wal-mart, hell wal-mart in general.i lol'd at the story.i would have ROFL if you there were somehow pics of you pushing your own car as described.

i usually avoid the front row at all costs, they always have those speed JUMPS for pedestrian safety. really, who cares about pedestrians?!

anyone ever driven the roads at saddleback college behind the baseball field? those are like 7 inches tall and pop straight out of the ground so not even the "dip&dodge" can save you from a ball-wrenching bump incidents every 100yards or so... did i mention they put them going up and down hills so they are really fun to drive over!?

I'll be so pissed if that happens to my car. File a complaint to the city or shopping center whoever put that thing there.

I'm sure some adrenaline kicks in when you've got everyone watching/laughing at you! Lol, I'd be so embarrassed, and pissed off. Another reason why Wal Mart sucks.

I actually just got back from one. I hate Wal Mart.
