Car: trying to decide on one...

Post

Everyone is taking this thread way too seriously.... seriously.

My used clutch blew up, cool pictures, slight mention of ONE guy at spec being a d!ck, that's all.

Buy what you want. I did, and I like my exedy more than my blown up spec.

I still have it by the way if anyone wants to use the pressure plate and just get a new disc....

Oh and everyone getting butthurt, go get laid. And I mean like really get laid, not whatever you people do. (you know who you are...)

Well folks...there seem to be some concerns and questions regarding this clutch. To begin, our warranty coverage is related to manufacturing and materials and extends to 120 days from the date of purchase (connected to the original purchaser). If there is an issue the unit would have to be pulled and returned to us for examination and the potential for warranty would be determined.

In this situation, FSU, was not the original buyer. Though I did not speak with him directly, I would assume that he is unsure when and where the clutch was initially purchased (thus there was no way for us to trace the units history). He has no idea how the car was originally maintained nor does he know if the clutch was installed properly. All that being said he is actually a bit of a victim of circumstance.

Without seeing the unit first hand all of my (or even your) assessments are relative to the pictures provided and though pictures are helpful they often do not tell the whole story. In situations where disc material is slung off of the carrier a miss-shift is commonly the cause. When a miss-shift occurs the material is put under a great deal of stress and this can lead to what you see here (again this is just my initiall thought after seeing the pics).

I have no problem at all if you are interested in sending the clutch back to us for assessment. If the unit can be rebuilt then I will be happy to provide a discounted price for the parts and labor required. Ultimately this is fair since you are not the original buyer. Then you can either keep it as a spare or re-sell it if you like. If the kit is completely shot then I will be happy to offer a reduced cost on a new kit (just like the person that you spoke to here previously). Either way, let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!!!

That seems to have shut everyone up. Thanks for coming in and letting us know what's up from the company's view on the situation. Personally, I have never seen this type of result from a miss-shift, and I have helped many a retarded "Honda Hustlers" change their clutches. I've seen input shaft bearings destroyed due to this though.

I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm sure that being part of a clutch company in the first place you have seen more than me. Just saying that I've never seen it.

It sure would be nice to just let a thread rest in peace.
