Warcraft II was never under a different company. It's the second game in a Blizzard-created series. Why would anyone else have had anything to do with it? Someone else did develop the expansion but that's the only non-Blizzard WC game ever.fukin240 wrote:Oh and i have Warcraft 2 when the game was under a different company. Not Blizzard.

That's what I'm saying. How on earth is that possible if Warcraft ONE was created by Blizzard? That doesn't make any sense. Blizzard was already LONG established by the time WCII development began. They were not up-coming. They were Blizzard. With Warcraft already established as their (and only their) intellectual property. They were the only developers to touch Warcraft II. This is not "I think" this is fact. I can tell you without question that it was not developed by someone else to then end up in the hands of Blizzard. It was created as original work by Blizzard from the first moment. No one merged with them (although that WAS the case with Diablo, brilliant developer Condor created Diablo and then merged with Blizzard as Blizzard North).fukin240 wrote:I think someone wrote Warcraft II, got someone to publish it, then made another company OR the company that published the game merged with "up-coming blizzard" then blizzard released the title, with the programmers concent of course
In all honest I am sure they are specifically looking for people with older system to make sure it will run well there too.MinisterofDOOM wrote:Double post for important stuff:
If you guys want to try and get in on the SCII beta, you can opt-in through the new b.net account system. You'll have to download an app to detect and report your system specs to blizzard but apparently even having a crappy system (like me for now) won't rule you out of getting in on the beta.
Looks like the beta will begin this summer.
I'm running it on Vista w/o a problem. Perhaps it's your hardware or drivers. I'm not even running in compatibility mode.C-Kwik wrote:Odd, totally independent of this thread (as I hadn't seen it before) I reinstalled a copy of SC on my PC to test a few things. Ended up playing a good portion of the terran campaign so far. What sucks is there are some compatibility issues with Vista (I think its more accurately the number of colors or something). I forced 256 colors but it still has a few issues getting all the colors right at times. Usually just in the menu screens.
I would love to give it a tryOriginalWheelman wrote:I have the Beta for the first scenario if anyone wants to try it out for me, I would appreciate feedback. I made a single and Co-Op version.
im down for that tooOriginalWheelman wrote:I have the Beta for the first scenario if anyone wants to try it out for me, I would appreciate feedback. I made a single and Co-Op version.
