ok so im getting ready to order some spark plugs for my red top and ive been getting some mixed messages from all the stores that carry them. ive been looking in getting the heat range 7 spark plugs because thats what the nissan guru in town recomended but i just went to enjuku racing and they said that the 7 heat range is for cars that are running 13-15 psi . i have a red top SR20 wiht a greddy front mount, KOYO rad, full exhaust and im running stock 7 pounds now my question is should i go with the 7 heat range plug?? i have the 6 heat range plug right now but i looked at it today and it had a yellow brownish tint just where the hexnut meets the ceramic which usually means to get a colder plug right?

Sounds like the plugs you have are perfect. The color you are describing is good. Gap them to .032" and you will be fine.

if you are only running stock boost run BKR6E ngk's BKR7E's are a hotter plug for higher boost so the spark doesn't get blown out by the higher compression Enjuku is absolutely right

You have that backwards, the 7s are a colder plug. They dissipate heat to the head more efficiently so as to not pre detonate at higher cylinder pressures.

You are correct, I would suggest the 7s. I have been very pleased with my 7s for all boost ranges from 7 to 13 psi. I had issues with the 6s above 10 psi

7s are good for most SRs. 6s are fine if you run a 100% stock SR, but who does that? =P
