can someone discribe exactly what spark blowout would feel like in boost?

reason im asking is because, either im experencing it, or some other weird problem.

first.... the setup

S13 SR20..... which is stockgreddy 18g...... running 14psiturbo back 2.5" exhaustnismo 145 degree thermostatfmicemanage blue.....pro tunedaem uego widebandq45 mafhks ssqv..... open atmospherewalbro fuel pump300zx fuel filter

second..... the problem

down here in louisiana we normally have 80-100 degree tempature. my car has been running great not a single problem out of it. here recently its gotten colder, and by colder i mean around 48-74 degrees. now around 5k it has a hicoup and i see a lean spot. as soon as i comes it goes away, it does it really quick then keeps pulling. also a few people have seen flames come out when it does it. i have tried changing the engine temp sensor, clean the maf, fuel filter. nothing fixes it it still does it, BUT heres the kicker.... a few days ago it warmed up to about 88 degrees and it ran perfect wtf.

could i be experencing spark blowout because its colder out i meanit maybe gets a half pound more now but i have that damn hicoup at 5k

Check your coilpacks, the hold downs may be loose, also, check the side of the pack, above the boot, it there are any cracks or carbon trails, the pack will need to be replaced.

well i didnt see any carbon trails or ark marks...... but i did find something else interesting. #4 plug hole full of oil . sooo im changing the tube o rings and the plugs, cuz there original, and see what happens. i hope this gets it strait. i still need to find out why it idles high all the time when its cold out but not when warm.

well nobody had the tube seals, so i just siliconed the ones i had. also no one had the spark plugs that are listed in the parts guide, the bkr7es11. i currenty has a set of ngk rfr6b 9 in it right now. now im just guessing that these are original plugs. whats the heat range on these and what part# should i use to get a colder set in coppers? or should i stay with the platinums?

yesterday i fixed the oil problem i #4 sparkplug tube but nobody had plugs and i wanted to make sure i get the right ones for my setup. going on now, yesterday was about 85 degrees here, ran the car after fixing oil problem..... no hicoup and idles fine. i kinda figured that because it was warm out.

this morning 55 degrees, cold for down here, wont idle lower than 1500, and the hicoup at 5k is worse.

my dad said i should try changing the termostat to an original temp, saying that with the low temp the coolant never gets warm enough for the computer to come out of cold start. could this be my whole damn problem?

i just found an archived post were the guy was experencing the same proplem and it was outside temp related. it ended up being a cracked plug. i know mine arent cracked but heavily used. and like i said i have no idea what plugs i should use. i have the pfr6b-9 in it now but the parts guide say to use bkr7es11. all these part numbers are giving me a headach, like tring to learn toyota engine codes..........i do know i would like to use a little bit colder plug though. 20psi is in the near future

i tried a cheap set of bkr6e v-power plugs gaped at .08mm. spark breakup is ALL GONE!!!!!!!!!!!i fact its pretty damn cold right now and my drive on the interstate i hit 17.5psi!!!!!! man i love my emanage way better than an afc...... my tune is right on, at the 17.5psi i had a consistant 11.1 afr i was in 5th gear and my speedo looked like my tack when in 3rd gear!!!!im am gonna get a set of colder plugs cuz i dont want to melt anything down, but yea, plugs..... an $8 set of plugs oh well i shouldnt have to worry about anything else cuz its either been cleaned or changed.
