Southeast Region Mountain Run!!!

Well is everyone meeting at the hotel or at the gas station lol? I think me and my friend will go check in at the hotel and then ride around a bit and then hang out with you guys.

The gas station is for those of us meeting up in Atlanta and caravaning up to Knoxville. The hotel is for meeting up in Knoxville. We will be meeting up tonight at about 10pm to hang out, but again at 6:30am to actually roll out to Cherokee.

I'm there. I was planning on having a Knox meet and doing the same thing but this works out perfect. I know a few people are already planning on meeting in Knox and going up to Cherokee for the Mountain Runs. If enough people are coming to Knox i'll get something figured out for a hotel and whatnot.

I don't know what's going on in Cherokee. I haven't read the other thread yet. As for Knoxville, if enough people are going to be here Friday night to just chilll and party i'll get a hotel set up for everyone to stay at. I'll go ahead and start looking at some around here so i'll have an idea.

Ok ok ok....I've been busy. Got a lot going on. Torry call me tomorrow (Friday) and I'll have 3-4 hotels to choose from and you can help me figure out what is best. (If I don't hear from you i'll just email you) Or I can just pick on my own and you guys can deal with it.

Another thought.....when we stop after the first part of the run we'll be at the park with the 100+ grills etc. What do you guys think about all of us getting together and getting stuff to grill out. Wouldn't be more than a couple dollars a piece to buy hamburgers/hotdogs etc and grill out up there. Or you can fend for yourself. Lemme know guys.

*note* Anyone that eats is not riding with me down the Dragon afterwards. No puke in my car. heh

Ok guys, Hotel junk. I tried to find a cheap one around cool stuff since the big stuff isn't going down in Knox and it's just a sort of mid-point for all of this. It's next to Applebee's, O'Charley's, Rafferty's, Quaker Steak and several fast food places and a nice billiards club. We'll have plenty of choice for places to hang out friday night and saturday if anyone stays here that night. I think most people are heading home after the run though.

Book through the internet.....you get a much better price. The price listed there is $53.96. I called and they do have rooms and the internet price is cheaper.

Torry, when you guys get into Knoxville give me a call so I can head over there and meet you guys. That should put you in Knox between 9:30 and 10:30 I think. So there won't be much time to hang out Friday night so I'll try and be there when you guys pull into town and we can all chill for a bit.

*BTW ~ I ran the Dragon this weekend. Give me your opinion Torry. We can head to the meeting spot Saturday morning via the Dragon and get a warm-up run and then run one of the other roads after Blue Ridge Parkway since they were doing some taping etc or take the interstate. Only problem is that it takes a bit more time to go to Cherokee that way. Like 1.5 hours on interstate compared to 3 hours through the Dragon. Just means more time and we'd get to run one more road.*

Burnin', if you read up in the thread we are meeting at the Days Inn hotel off of Merchants Drive around 10pm. Go eat etc and have fun for a bit and then crash. We'll meet back up there (if you aren't staying there of course) at 6:30am Saturday morning. We have to leave at 7am sharp or we won't make it to Cherokee on time. We have to be in NC at 9am and the cars leave at 10:20am from there for the run.

BTW, I may not be going to the mountain part unless I can catch a ride with someone. I won't be able to drive unfortunately. I may ride with a friend from here but we'll have to see. Torry, is it possible that I can ride with you?

How late does he have to work on Friday? The festivities don't start until Saturday. I won't be up in Knoxville Friday anyway till like 10 pm or so.

If you guys are completely out, then I need a confirmation. If so, MD needs to cancel his hotel reservation because I believe we are down to 4 people now. Everyone else I know going also backed out. Heck, we might even be down to 2 or 3 people.
