Ok guys (and gals), you need to go to this if you are reasonably close (within a few hours). I went to the 2001 one and it was a blast.

High Tach Motorsports is having their 4th annual Mountain Run starting this year in Cherokee, NC on July 10th. For more info, please go to http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=79503

When I went back in 2001, we met up in Atlanta at about 5am on Saturday and drove up to Brevard, NC for a departure time of 9am. This year we plan on doing the same (only we can leave a little later this year, since departure time isn't until 10:20am, and it's in Cherokee, not Brevard). If you would like to attend this, please respond!!! I would like to setup the Atlanta Caravan up there. Otherwise you can just show up in Cherokee!

There should be well over 100 cars in attendence, so don't miss out! We had over 60 cars in attendence back in 2001, and that was the very first year! Also, check out the video that will be made. Check out that link for all the info!

Yeah...um...same here. Only people riding with me...I better know personally. If you've never been on a racetrack or mountain road with me, you *WILL* get sick...only a few exceptions.

And Aprille...I'm down with grilling out. Sounds good to me! I'll call you tonight after I get off work to work out hotel details. Ttyl

Cool...keep an eye on this thread. I'll post a meeting place and spot when it gets nearer. What part of town are you in? We'll probably meet in the Marietta/Kennesaw area somewhere....near I-75.

Hey HighTach...did you use to have an RX7? I went back in 2001, and I thought the guy organizing everything was an RX7 guy. I read about the first year's run on the SE-RX7 mailing list.

On another note though, Clint...do you have many people who are going to want the front of the pack, besides you? I remember before when I went, me and my friend Dave (dave had the Celica GTS, I was driving a 98 SE-R at the time), but we were on the bumpers of the people in front of us. Every stop we kept sneaking a few spots closer to the front. We weren't really having fun until we were behind the NSX, which I believe was either behind you, or 2 cars behind you.

All I'm sayin is, I am claiming a spot near the front

I'm about an hour from Road Atlanta and an hour from AMS. So yeah, free room, if you don't mind driving an hour to the track (either track that is).

Although, since I am actively looking for a "real" job, I may not be in Atlanta much longer...depending on what I find for work.

The difference is...when you are drunk you don't care what the hotel management says. And I don't plan on getting really drunk Friday night because we have to get up early Saturday.

But if we can get away with 5 in a room...I'm all for it. I don't really care. We can have 30 in our room if you want....so long as I get a bed

On the other hand, I want atleast one roomate to split costs.

I'd say get it. We know we have at *least* 5 people staying there....so 2 rooms is not a bad idea. Worse case scenario, we can cancel one of our reservations this upcoming week.

Ok....here's the information on the Atlanta caravan:

We will be meeting at the Chevron station at Chastain Rd and I-75. Exit 271 on I-75, and it's on the east side of the interstate.

We'll be leaving there at 7pm on Friday to head up to knoxville. Please let me know if you plan on meeting there so we know to wait on you. If you can, email me your name, type of car, and your cell phone #. My cell # is 404-819-5496 if you get lost.

Also, if you have a 2 way radio, I recommend bringing that as well. Cell phones usually don't work near the Blue Ridge Pkwy, so a 2 way radio is the best way to communicate.

If 7pm does *not* work for anyone, please let me know and we'll see what other arangements we can make.

Knoxville is about 3 hours from here. Cherokee is about 1.5 hours from Knoxville.

GR, I don't think we should run the dragon first....it means we'd have to wake up at like 5 am on Saturday morning (ick). I was thinking take US 441 to Cherokee. That way we experience some mountain roads, but it's still more direct of a route than the dragon.

9095....you going? I got 2 friends that backed out today (non NICO members)....but oh well. Looks like the people meeting in Kennesaw may just be me, you (possibly), md, and 240kid (possibly).

How late does he have to work on Friday? The festivities don't start until Saturday. I won't be up in Knoxville Friday anyway till like 10 pm or so.

If you guys are completely out, then I need a confirmation. If so, MD needs to cancel his hotel reservation because I believe we are down to 4 people now. Everyone else I know going also backed out. Heck, we might even be down to 2 or 3 people.

How will we look on milege through cherokee? I need to plan for gas and stuff.

I would plan a tank to get up there, a tank for driving around through the mountains, and a tank to get back on.

For food, we will probably go out Friday night when we get there...or you can grab something before you leave (I take lunch at like 2, so I'll just eat dinner when we get there...but that's up to you). I plan on bringing a cooler for food to cookout on Saturday, which I'll probably pick up early Saturday morning. Then you got Saturday night on the way home for dinner.

Ok, since nobody emailed me that they are meeting up at the Chevron, and with what car, I guess I'll just show up and hope to spot a few Nissans

I'll be in a silver Spec V with a big NICO decal on my rear window (and quarter panel windows).

Because I was sick, I didn't have time to prep my car yet, so I'm going to attempt to do it after work (need to change oil, rotate tires, etc) so I might be running a little late. I'll say we roll out at 7pm unless I'm not there yet LOL...then we roll out when I get there.

Anyway, hope to see you guys there....and GR...I'll give you a call when we get to the hotel.
