The oil pickup is very close to the pan bottom! Always a good idea to remove pan and look to see. We almost always replace the pickup!Having changed around 30 pans in 10 years. Many were from lowered Q.

Well I drove the Q home today! We used the JB weld and it seems to do the job for now. I'm going to keep a close eye on it though..Anyways thanks for the help guys, hopefully I don't need any more help for a while..

speaking of JBweld.. when I drove my Q parts car home, I was pulling out of the seller's driveway and nailed a bigass bump that cracked the pan right above the drain bolt. We couldn't figure it out, and then we ended up snapping the head off of the drain bolt while messing with it.We ended up letting all of the oil drip out over the course of a few hours, and I made this like 5"x6" JBkwik patch and just stuck it over the drain bolt area.. It hasn't leaked a drop in over 3 months while the engine has been sitting in my garage, but I'm going to have to make a new rear sump oil pan anyway, so it doesn't matter to me.

Yea so far the JB weld seems to be holding up pretty good. It still leaks oil though, from a different spot, just here and there though. I might try and take a picture but my camera isnt that good.
