Ran across this thread on nasioc and I figured the secret underground nico club would be irked. The car was stolen right from the guy's house. Keep an eye out for parts/sightings/etc.

Also, any of you guys that live in VA, be careful. Apparently, this is one out of a number of subies that have been stolen recently, and they seem to be linked.

here's the thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forum...age=8

And here's the car:

Those wheels should be pretty easy to spot.

They probably just borrowed the car to wash it.

That sucks. My parents have had two vehicles stolen. Not cool. I hope this guy gets it back in the shape it was taken.

yea it blows. I don't know how I'd react if my car was stolen. I'd probably be out on a rampage.

I think the wheels are going to work to his advantage here. That color isn't going to be that easy to hide. Hopefully someone took it for a joyride rather than stripping it.....

I dunno, I had my last car stolen and my first thought was "I hope it's totaled". I'm not a big fan of other people driving my car, and who knows what the thief did to it while he/she was driving. Quite possibly would lead to nothing but problems down the road. And, by that point, insurance isn't covering it.

My hope is that his insurance is decent enough to take care of any/all mods to pay out closer to the actual value of the car.

I almost swear I saw this car yesterday at a small meet in Norfolk, but I don't usually pay much mind to scoobys so It was probably not it, but I'm sure if it was, someone else saw it too and know about that stolen one.

Yeah...why are they called scoobies anyway? Are they cartoon doggy treats? It's a f***ing subaru...It's either suby or subaru. You don't see people calling a toyota a "bota" (OK i couldn't think of a suitable example...but you get the point)

Its cause subaru sort of sounds like scooby doo, and people sometimes call toyotas 'yotas'

Don't you have snow to plow or something or is your super duper 4x4 still stuck in your driveway?

Sweet, the more people that know, the better the chances of the car or parts showing up

How is that car even possible to steal? They must have towed it.

Jack it up. Put it on Dollies. Then wheel it away. Silent.

If you read through the whole thread you'll see that it was in fact towed away as there is evidence of them pushing partially down the drive way before they gave up and just towed it away.

Unless he advised his insurance about those mods and has a special policy to cover them, he won't get s*** back. He'll get the value of other same year stock subies, and nothing more.

He has Allstate as stated in the thread, so I'm guessing he's pretty much F'd, they will give him black book value, but the car has to be missing for at least 2 weeks before they will even start to process the claim. As far as the mods are concerned, unless he has receipts for those mods and a coverage on those aftermarket parts he'll only get what they think the car is valued at. For those of you who have a ton of money in parts on your cars it would do you good to get your car professionally appraised. Anything that you can pay insurance on can be appraised (homes, jewelry, cars ect.)
