So I'm in Orlando for a business conference last week, and @ 5:00 am Cali time (8 am Eastern) my wife calls me and tells me that my pager alarm for my car is going off. Now I gave her my 9mm and 3 loaded 16-round clips before I left, but I told her NOT to go outside (when I'm away, the gun is just for home protection) Anyway I ask her to check the pager and see what zone has been triggered, and she says its the vibration alarm... that means someone either hit the car or tried to break the window, but neither the door nor the trunk has been triggered.

I told her to press the arm button, which triggers the panic attack function on the car, but NOT to go outside until it was light. (nothing in the car is worth her getting hurt over) She goes out into the hallway, and as she approaches the front door of the building, she sees a truck speed off. Anyway, when she goes out to the car after its light outside, she see that someone tried to break the window, but the tint held the window together and they didn't get in.

Anyway, I got a mobile company to come repair the window, and my local custom shop came and picked up my car, stripped all the metallic tint of the remaining windows and put 5% charcoal tint all around for free... now the car looks a bit different (better in my opinion) so I'll have pics up soon.. so guys and gals , here are the points to this story

1. if I'm home and you break into my car, my 9mm will keep you company until the police arrive!

2. Pager alarms are the SH*T...I HIGHLY recommend them for anyone that has a system in their car!

3. To all the potential thieves ... before you approach me or my car in an effort to car jack or steal, please see point number 1 above!

3 clips?? Glad they didnt get in!

The 2-way remote saves the day!

Id consider putting a decal on the car that states its protected by an angry owner with a pistol license whose not afraid to hold their own!

+1 for the Ms. Feelgood waking up at 5am!

Doc, doesnt your wifey work for the building? What about a "keycode" barrier to the parking lot?

well, the way our complex is situated, thieves could still get in and out... our cars are parked out of view below the apartments, hence the absolute neccesity of a pager alarm!

I actually have 6 clips, but three were loaded for her...don't want her wasting time trying to load a gun, if they come into the house and endanger her or my daughter.. its lights out... no remorse, not when my family's in danger.. but its a different story for a car, you can't take a gun out to the car and unload on em, thus there's no need for her to even go outside with it...

I am planning to invest in a two-way pager alarm after I start getting heavy on the mods for my car too. What alarm are you running on? Got my tint yesterday and glad to hear that yours held the glass up after they tried breaking in. 16 round mags for the win, too bad after 2000 you can only get 10 rounds mags .

damn dude that sucks, but I am glad to hear they didnt get anything.

I know exactly what you are saying about the home protection. I got a 40 and a 45 on deck with hydroshocks.

For anyone with a home defense piece. Hydoshocks are the way to go. Extremely leathal, but wont penitrate walls so you don't haft to worry about hitting your loved ones or neibors.

wow. That sucks Robert. At the end of the day the way it all ended up maybe it's good you were outta town. Sure a 9mm with a heavy clip would stop them, but if they had guns too it coulda been a very sh*tty situation. + 1000 for your wife and also that you got new tint and window before your return.

geeze Robert! I'm sorry to hear about that but at least your family is safe and unharmed which is the what's important! 5% tint is pretty dark, not even you'll be able to see what's inside WHEN you're inside!

Aren't you going to move to the East Coast soon,..like Baltimore? Not sure about the tint laws there but depending where you move to, the crime rate is pretty high down there

i get what you are saying bro, but i doubt they targeted robs car from nico. They probably heard him driving down the street bumping and new he had a system. Or they just saw his car on the street, thought it looked real nice and figured it had some expensive stuff on the inside. But thats why we have alarms/insurance/low jack.

I have a friend that has a a patent for a new alarm system that will send you a text if your alarm starts going off. It also will have a small camera built in that will start filming/streaming when the alarm is active or motion in the car after the alarm is activated. As soon as he gets his prototype done, I will be installing and testing it.

Baretta A/F 92 here, oh, I don't carry it to high school games, but you better believe I carry in the city, and yeah, I have a C&C permit...otherwise I'd just carry outside my coat...I hope I never ever have to use it.

exactly , you hope to never have to use it! but its impossible to get a C & C eprmit in California unless you are law enforcement!

^Exactly. That's why I gotta disagree with LBC about his comment about putting a sign on his car that it's protected by force.

Rob, I'm sure you've posted before but can you let me know again how much the alarm system + install came out to be. I'm gonna go this route as soon as I get my rims because after that the system build begins. If it ain't too much I could possibly get it done at the same shop you had yours done when we go down there for the meet.

Guess thats the truth... ya dont want a showdown...

But if you run down to the car with your pistol, (without advertising it on the car)... and they pull one... then what!?

Guns scare me because of this... maybe you were just intending to chase him away... but what if hes got "two strikes and nothin to lose"...

I wish no one stole stuff and this wouldnt need to be addressed!

I would be more afraid of shooting first. Go out and detain him till the cops show up and then he pulls his hand out of his pocket or turns to quick then its over.

Rob, you can also get a concealed weapons permit if you take a few classes and get your bounty hunters licence. Costs a few hundred bucks.

Or if you work for a jewler or a job where you carry alot of money or classified material arround you get gat one. You just have a really good excuse.

Does your wife have firearms training Rob? Just making sure - you wouldn't want her to operate a firearm without knowing how to; the results could be worse...
