any reason for starting with a DE over the DET?

Price mainly... and to be different. Coming from the FWD SR20DE crowd, I've seen some 500+whp SR20DE's out there. Honestly, the differences between the DET and the DE when it boils down to it.. aren't that great. I paid 1/3 of what I would have paid for a SR20DET swap. Since I planned on building it anyway.. it didn't realy matter.

Looking good, but it's no good without the Dyno numbers :D . Best of luck on your dyno day.

Come on now... I just got it running! ;) I'm anxious to get some numbers too.. I realy want to see what it will do on the track. I'm sure I'll get booted since I don't have a cage in the car yet..

Looks good but on that radiator? You did that much work and put that much money but no upgraded radiator? That turbo looks like the size of my head.

thats a good idea on saving money. If your gonna build hte motor you might as well opt for hte cheaper motorset if it doesnt make any difference. Nice set up. Im very jealous.

very very nice and clean engine bay so far. keep us all updated with pics to coem and dyno charts.

only thing that i DO NOT like is the fact you wanna spray. if you want to spray use it on teh track not the dyno. IMO N2O is for p****** but to each his own so good luck with the finsihed product man.

The radiator wasn't realy necessary right now... I don't plan on road racing the car or anything. The stock radiator will do just fine for a 1/4 mile setup. I'll upgrade it later as money permits.

Why don't you like nitrous? I don't realy think of it as bieng a ***** for using nitrous? It helps with a few things. First, it cools down the charge air temps dramatically, making for a lesser chance that the engine will experience detonation under higher boost levels.. Second, it promotes faster spoolup.. critical, since I am running a large turbocharger. And third, of course, you will make more power... not just from the extra oxygen when the N20 is broken down in the combustion chamber, but also because you are cooling the air down dramatically. This means more oxygen in a given volume of air, and more power.

oh i understand and im not exactly srue why i dont liek nitrous. i jsut dont see myself ever using it and dont quite get the craze. i guess in your case its nearly crucial for a good run at the cars full potential.

in either case Kudos to you bro

You need some skirts or something, that is fugly, no offence. Huge aggressive front bumer with no extra aero = retarded.

hey just a question. why did you pick the sr over the ka?from all the posts I've read, the KA has more torque and makes a better drag car where as the sr makes for a better road/track/drift car.

Nah.. Hassan and Allen's shop is called "PSI Racing". We're actually out in Houma.. about 30 minutes southwest of New Orleans. I am friends with Hassan, but no affiliation or anything business-wise. You can come by if you want... we're not too far from New Orleans.. PM me for directions to the shop.

I was realy disputing on whether or not to do a KA or an SR. I had been leaning towards a KA build.. but after I got a good deal on this SR.. I couldn't pass it up. There are some things about the KA that bother me at this high of HP figures. The stud girdle needs some reinforcement IMO after about 550-600whp. It distorts, allowing the crank to flex/break. Also, there is headgasket issues to deal with.. I realy do like the KA though.. Matter of fact, I am building a KA for my wife's S14 right now. If it's 450-500whp and under, a KA is great.. But, I just don't trust it past that point. I have a lot of experience with the SR.. so I went with it instead.

Travis Engine looks sweet. Refresh my memory for me tho, what are the advantages of the KA intake Manni over the stocker? Its been a while, thanks.

And some pics of the interior, I wana see thoes gauges..

Keep it up..

I'm a little nervous about running the car down the track... lol.. I've never driven anything with this much power on slicks. My fastest car, was a 98 Camaro that ran in the mid 11's @ 120mph. This car has the potential to run 9 second ET's @ 140-150mph.

Not sure what you mean about a KA intake manifold? This is a S14 low port SR motor.. It uses a different intake manifold than a high port SR from a S13.

Here's a pic of my gauge panel that I made for the center console..

I am going to the dyno next Monday for some tuning..
