A month or so a go I finally fixed the back up light issue.which in turn fixed the transmission..

Ill explain...

My back up lights would blow out if I put my Q45a in reverse for more than 4 sec. if the fuse blew then the transmission would not shift see these two threads for details:

zerothread?id=101555

and

zerothread?id=97760

I found that the wire harness that runs to the tail lights along the trunks main supports had been pinched by the trunks lift stoppers and the trunk lid support arm. This had severed all the lines in the harness that run the into the trunk lid..

So all the wires were exposed to the steel of the trunk lid support arm.

I traced all wires in the harness back two feet and found no other signs of damage..

So I trimmed the bad burnt ends off stripped them and SOLDERED and HEAT SHRUNK Each and every wire in the harness. Tested... no more blown fuses.

Just a follow up..

I will post pictures as soon as I download them from my better halfs Samsung P735 (1.3 Megapixel camera in a phone) it takes great pictures.
