I believe it to be a short as well. After putting in a smart glow fuse (10 amp) in the backup light fuse slot, proceeded to start the car it worked great but then depressed shift lock and pedal, it shifted but as it passed reverse the fuse blew and began to glow red. I installed a new fuse and removed the remote started cpu just in case and same thing happened, fuse blew. Wes, you said that your Q had the same issue, where was the short? Shift lock cpu? Would the shift lock cpu have something to do with my car not shifting into 1st, 2nd or 4th...or do you think its two different issues? Anyone? Anyone?
