I know a few people have done it, wondering if anyone has any links or pics that could help me out. Stock rear end or Q45 rear end aren't gonna cut it anymore.

Thanks!

Yeah, I like the IRS, even with the welded 3.689 on the street. It's pothole and rough pavement city here, the IRS keeps the tires down more then a solid IMO, but I am comparing to my past trucks.

Haven't got track time in, I dont know if I will have wheel hop on the sticky summer strip.

I would be more concerned of wrecking that rear end completely. They just don't stand up to slicks and hard launches.

There's almost zero way a welded IRS will hook harder than welded/spool solid axle...

Either way you know what you're dealing with so I won't start an argument in that respect, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Oh also want to note I'd love to keep the IRS, it does everything except purely drag racing SO much better.

Ever thought about switching to an R230, from a 300ZX? With the right diff, and axle setup I would think it could handle upwards of 500-600 ft lbs of torque, even when launching with slicks.

Talk to mazworx, they run a ford 9 inch in their 1300 hp race car. And they sell ford 9 inch kits.
