actually, i may have found a way to bypass needing that gaugue cluster (altho I still may just do it, just because it looks so baller...lol

ive been doing a LOT of research on this swap (seeing as tho the hospital I work at is closing, i have a LOT of time on my hands now, lmao.) the vq30 heads from the pre-2002 maximas, as well as its non variable cammed timing equipment, can be used on the top of the vq35 block for this swap, and is actually done regularly by maxima owners who swap vq35s for their vq30s. ive even got a guide that shows you how to do it. so this is the route im going for this swap. so now, IRAX!!! wuts up with those mounts? i will be needing some this summer, so whats the status regarding their availability?

what i DO need to know tho, is the compatibility of the 350z intake mani for the vq30 heads....anybody got that info?

the manifold will fit but it wont line up perfectly with the bore but it will still make a good enough seal to run, IIRC broaner the first guy in the us to swap over a vq30de-k into a 240sx used a 350z intake manifold.

IRAX do the stock 350z cats fit on the 240? I'm kinda leaning to this swap and busting my a** to get it bared.

you have to rotate the flange on the exhaust manifold and shimmy it a little and it will fit fine.

The VQ30 and VQ35 have different intake ports. If you want to use the Z33 intake manifold you need to use the lower intake as well along with port matching the heads on the VQ30 engine.

Anything is possible - with enough fabrication.

You're going to need a front and rear subframe from a RWD car, you're going to need a solid understanding of suspension geometry, and you're going to need to be one hell of a fabricator.
