If he was running the paddles he could have been shifting improperly. It's easy to do which is why I don't use them at the strip. The only thing I have to go by are 1/4-mile times which show the G37, even with the 5AT, is faster than your modded 6mt (based on your times).

isn't the z tube alone 7hp? the difference between 280 and 287?

My car now is at lease 15hp faster than it was when I first bought it!

do you guys think it could have been the grade of gas? I was just thinking that could be the only other thing!

-The 08 G37 has the RE5R05 auto that the coupe and sedan have been running for years.-HP numbers are unreliable at best.

I have to give you some credit on the marginal score, by all right even a 5AT in D should have pulled on you. A 37 auto is awesome put it in DS and step on it. The WOT logic will take car of fuel,valve lift and duration,and shifting for you to maximize performance. Beating a noob only gets you 50% credit on the score.

No, there is probably some timing differences in the Z. Z tube alone is not gonna net you 7 HP. I wish it was that easy to gain 7 HP.

Stock 2003-2004 will get around 200-210 to the wheels on dynomite dynos. Rev up motors normally hit around 220 to the wheels stock. That doesn't change much between Z/G. Of course, different dyno's in different areas are different. Up here in UT you will dyno lower because of altitude automatically.

Actually with the G's you've got to take away about 20% of the total power advertised to get your real wheel HP. They are allowed to advertise the HP at the crank. Not trying to burst your bubble...I wish my 03 really started with 260 but i've got a lot of mods...i have beaten G coupes and 350z's although i don't know the years or mods on them....I'm just happy with what i got...there will always be someone better....
