So... what about the Coupe?

All things Altima Coupe.

Put me in the "I still like my car" group (but only the '08 and '09 models, I'm not too fond of the interiors of the '10+ models). I've had my Altima Coupe since November 2007, and when I was in the market, I was looking for something comfortable and somewhat fuel efficient but also something that was kind of fun to drive. The A/C fit the bill, and it still does for me - it does everything I want it to do and does it more than well enough for me. By the time I'm in the market for a car again, I don't think I'll be looking at another coupe as a daily, but I'd love a 240z as a second car though...

I don't think Nissan is going to keep the coupe version of the Altima around, and while an FR-S/BRZ fighter from Nissan would be nice, I'm not holding my breath. Honda's Accord Coupe is still around and seems to be selling relatively well, but Nissan doesn't seem to be moving to continue competing in that market. In addition, the market has had quite a few sporty/sports cars introduced at the same price point as the Altima Coupe and I don't think Nissan can compete effectively with a new A/C.

I've owned my coupe since June 2007, and it still fits me well. I have two kids (5 and 7); my youngest was less than two months old when I got it, but because of children a 2-seater Z is not an option for me. I don't know if I hit my mid-life crisis at an early age, but the thought of myself in a four door terrifies me. Saying that; if the Altima coupe has to be the sacrificial lamb for a re-born S-16 then so be it.

Yeah I see a lot of AC's but only like two of them that actually do mods. One of them at my school has white on white, looks sick. :bigthumb:

Sweet another local; I'm actually in Madison too, and honestly (by looking at your avatar) I think I've seen you around. You should come to the local Nissan meets (not that I've gone in a while), so that I won't be the only one there without a Z or a G. I've seen the white coupe you're refering to also.

Sorry for this tread's detour; I now permit it to get back on subject.

I'm honestly hoping, with the BRZ/FRS being the elephant in the room, that Nissan's marketing department realizes that many people bought the AC at the price point of mid $20k range because they wanted a car that filled the void left by the 240SX. Like many said, there was very little competition in the segment or similar segments at the model's inception. I really think that the Toyobaru sales will dent prospective Altima Coupe shoppers unless of course Nissan meets them with a next-gen S-Chassis car. For the sales that the Toyobaru twins miss, you have the Genesis 2.0T to deal with.

There is a market for an S Chassis replacement. Can Nissan use a revised Altima Coupe to make it work? Or will they use something else?

If I could go back in time to when I bought my car in august 2007 I definitley would have gone with an evo. I only got the 2.5 because it was the only manual one they had and I use to have an integra gsr so I figured they might come out with some good performance mods in the future so I could make decent power. I guess not enough people were interested in making their 2.5s fast lol. I really hope they do come out with a new 240 because like you guys said the coupe will always follow the sedan.
