car can still be fixed with a good body shop. claim it with the other party's insurance. they will learn their lesson.

no trust ME, I've been down that road, and $3k isn't unheard of.

an old man hit my passenger door, and now I have a medium size dent. I got 900 bucks for it. you can still get 3k for the car if your car was low mileage with a clean body.

even if they total it out, you can remove anything you want from the car as far as i know....a friend totaled his car from being hit...he took it home after talking to his agent, removed all suspension (aftermarket) and every little thing he had put on the motor, even the seats...it was all aftermarket....they sent a rollback and took it as is.

lol well before i got hit i had damage that could classify my car as totaled, seeing as it'd cost more to fix the car than the car itself, but yeah.

it has 127k miles on it.

i finished removing all my aftermarket stuff from the car, and a few parts on the engine. so now all that is left is the engine and transmission.

both my 240's have decent wheels on them, and i dont really wanna let them take one of the sets away. any ideas?

i dont know anyone near my town that has a set of stock wheels i could buy

any does anyone know exactly how they determine how much money i get? and if i get money, does it have to be for a body shop, or can i use it for whatever?

Agreed. Finally this piece of s*** will be off the forums, actually buy it back bro, some bondo here and there and you're set. Let insurance keep those autozone wheels too.

how much you get depends on each individual car, they take into account modifications and other factors. and how you get the money depends on the insurance company. some just give you a check, some pay the bodyshop and you have to get the car fixed.

what if i dont want the blue car fixed. i dont need it fixed, my new 240 is far better than the blue one was ever going to be. i'll take money if they'll give it but i dont need it fixed, and besides, that is an epic amount of money. before the wreck a shop in town valued the drivers side qp at over 6000 bucks. i cant imagine what the passenger side is going to be now.

They wont give you 6k for the car.. I can tell you that. Its all up in the air really, there are a lot of factors that can/will determin what they will give to you. We could throw out figures all day and maybe someone will get close to what they end up giving you, but all in all were just guessing.
