I am going to recommend the TC Sound TC9. It's not an spl monster, but it will give you exactly what you're looking for.
When graphed it has more output down low then the 12w6, and is flatter up top then the W6.
Also, the TC9 has a higher motor force.
It does handle 800 watts, but that doesn't really matter. The excursion on it is 18mm. Looney can probably verify the Xmech, IIRC it's in the range of 30mm. So you won't be bottoming this driver out .
Oh yeah, and it's cheaper
