So on one fine day about a month ago, I put the top down. When I put it back up, I noticed a small crack in the plastic window. You'd have to look hard to notice anything at all. Well I put krazy glue to seal it back up along with some scotch tape on the inside and out of the window to prevent any leaks.

Well, a month later it seems to have done the trick but since then I didn't have the top down because I didn't want anymore cracks. So a few days ago I put the top down, just to make sure everything was working. Everything seemed fine. Well this morning I put the top up (I have to park near a tree at school and birds love red cars) and I saw 2 larger cracks on the window that you can defintely notice. I knew I should have bought some sort of plastic polish for the top. I guess the window got hard and brittle from being out in direct sunlight. I told my dad about getting some Plexus but he said no it's nothing (the answer I most often get from him when I have a problem with the car...including my timing chain rattle issue) Next time, i'll have to listen to myself instead of him.

Getting a new top or window will have to wait for some time...unless someone's willing to donate me money, j/k. My question is, is there a possible way to remove that window and leave the top like that? I realize that it's attached by velcro and stitched to the top itself. I saw a Miata a while back with the top up without a rear window so i just wondering if this could be a temporary alternative.

Also, have any of you guys heard of a window that can be zipped off/on from the top?

Man, that sucks Hope ya find an affordable fix/replacement for it. How often do you leave your window in direct sunlight anyway? Just want to know your circumstances to prevent this happening to mine

Well my vert gets left in direct sunlight at my school parking lot. There's no shade for it. Let's say it's been like this for almost 5 days a week since last August.

Keep in mind it's my DD so I have no choice.

When i'm at home it's garage kept however.

I think mine is pretty much the same way. When it's at home it's kept in the shade though (no garage ). Still trying to track down a thing of Plexus, though.

Yes I saw both of those. I'll see if I can remove the window myself and just leave it windowless until I get a new one. It's getting warmer now so it won't be a problem. As for the rain, I'll get a cover or something.
